You should try it- turn on the windshield wipers and go fly in same bad weather.

I just might.

Tired of being stuck in a queue anyway. I just looked at the steam store page. The game reviews are at "Overwhelmingly Negative". I've never seen that before on any game in Steam.

Honestly what was MS thinking when they released at the same hour globally? How could a conglomerate founding IT company not see this coming?

  • I've gone from installing the PMDG 737 to doing my last load of ATPL exams, thanks basically to the aircraft and the sim.  Thanks MSFS 2020!

  • I learned it in the 737-400 in FS98 hehe.  Funny to learn basic nav in a jet.  That's the flightsim way lol!

  • Just wondering why everybody is deleting msfs right now? Are you lacking disk space or what? I will keep msfs installed until my add-ons work perfectly in msfs2024. As I did with msfs when it was

Well this sucks. Launched as soon as I got home from work at around 18:30 UK time and still not in. Been stuck at the "97% - Loading Unusually Long" screen for coming up to two hours. I'm about to pull the plug and go to bed thoroughly disappointed. My saving grace is I'm going flying for real tomorrow instead, maybe this will work tomorrow evening.

So I managed to get in for about an hour.

I don't want to jump the gun, but I can't say I'm really impressed. I will have to spend some time configuring controls, mouse k/b, flight peripherals etc. I did a short free flight out of my home city CYYC climbed to about FL30 mid day with clear weather, so I can get a good view of the terrain quality and LOD. I'm just not feeling it at this time. MSFS 2020 visuals seem much sharper, and more realistic. Also did the same out of KSEA. Same deal.

I may have missed it, but I did not see an option in graphics to enable or disable frame gen. It should be noted that my 3090ti does not officially support frame gen- in msfs 2020 I'm using the frame gen mod to do it, which is superb! Honestly that saved me from paying another fortune for a 40 series card last year, for a feature that Nvidia could have easily implemented for the 30 series cards, but Team Jenson and his shareholders are just plain greedy word not alloweds IMHO. With the hack we know it works great at the very least for the higher tier 30 series cards.

Now I'm asking myself if the FG setting in MSFS2024 is not present simply because the absence of a 40 series card. I did manage to find it in the usercfg.opt under "FrameGeneration NONE".

I exited the sim, and went straight to MSFS2020 which put a smile on my face. Still a great performer, textures as sharp as a razor, and it looks as it should. 2024 is a new product that we've barely gotten out of the box so-to-speak. I need to spend more time with it, learn my way around the graphic settings, and wait for improvement mods to start trickling in, just as we've historically done in the past with flight sims of yore.

Here's what I can say: Day one with 2020 almost five years ago was a jaw dropping experience, against everything else that was out there at the time. xplane fsx p3d aerofly ect.

I did not even come close to getting this wow factor this time around. YMMV. Cheers

I won't say how many hours I have ( a lot, and even after I wasn't able to get in for a long time.)  Thanks to MSFS for bringing back flight sim, which was basically dead.

My old account was became inaccessable so I had to create a whole

But I have been using flightsim for a quarter of a century, despite the counter which says I'm a new user...
