November 18, 20241 yr I am in seclusion with a circle of monks outside chanting laments until the moment of launch.
November 18, 20241 yr For me it is indeed a space issue. MSFS isn’t the only thing I enjoy and 500 gigs is half my drive. So when I install 2024 I’ll give it a rolling cash of around that much and leave some room for other games. I don’t use alot of addons. So a reinstall is just a time sink for me and not the headache it may be for some. That’s if 2024 is a hot mess and unplayable which I doubt.
November 18, 20241 yr No plan now to delete MSFS2020, i was in from day1 and there were times you could do with a decent back up. AMD Ryzen 7800x3d 64gb DDR5, Sapphire 7900 GPU MSSI Tomahawk AM5 M/Board. 1x 4tb Crucial M.2 SSD, 3x 2tb Crucial M.2 SSD's

I can honestly just warn anyone to uninstall 2020 and think you will just copy over your addons and everything will seamlessly work as you know it! A lot of you will be very disappointed tomorrow. Sorry, thats not what you want to hear. Not having addons for a bit will not hurt me or my experience one bit.

From my perspective it's quite simple, MSFS24 should be an overall improvement on MSFS2020 so for me - personally - there's zero need to keep two Sims installed that are essentially the same only the latest one comes with more bells & whistles, so there's no point having the old one installed. I'll be keeping the original installed for a while until I know that MSFS24 is good/stable enough (which could be day one, it could be day 100!). I did the same with previous games/titles that had a new version released, so it's nothing new to me but it appears this process is very new to some around here. November 18, 20241 yr No plans to uninstall MSFS 2020 just yet - We don't know if current addons will work in the new sim. So for time being it is staying on my drive until such time that all of my addons are fully compatible in new sim. Besides I don't fancy flying default planes.

November 18, 20241 yr Thank you MSFS2020 for learning me how to tweak a UserCfg.opt file. Thank you !

I'm going all in and if the worst-case scenario happens I can always reinstall 2020, which I don't think will be the case. I'm pretty sure a lot of brave guys will reinstall 2020 in a short time. But quietly 🤣
November 18, 20241 yr The first thing I will do after FS2024 is installed, is to check FS2020 will still run ok

November 18, 20241 yr I am not uninstalling 2020, but I expect by the end of the weekend I will. It's going to take some serious ground breaking bugs for me not to move over full time. At launch, I don't care if my PMDG, Fenix, etc. work. I want to try out the new a321, the A330, the new MAX (even though I have the fly) and the cargo 747. Plus, I want to try the new career mode. There is more than enough to keep me busy until the devs play catch up.
