The new ATC is a nice improvement. I completed just a short IFR flight to Berlin Brandenburg and it vectored me correctly on to the approach without any craziness

Really have to give it a fair try one of these days...

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Same here need to check it out

Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

ATC really nice, I think I can replace WT3's rudimentary one with this.

Although can't select runway in use it quite annoying. In my test both TO and LD airport have report 2kt of south wind in ASXP12 (with passive mode), but in-game ATIS report Variable wind and all gives me north facing runway.

But WT3 injects and is aware of AI too

If airport updated by artist, runway use i determined by them.

Doesn't really, it will place me 1nm following another approaching aircraft and clear the landing...

Did VFR flight to YBCS. Contacted tower, requested landing. Got a STAR and Arrival, but landing was cancelled at about 1nm out, flying default Baron. Its slow enough to give me time to think.

I tried a few more short flights and it's been a little hit and miss sadly. The ATC system seems to occasionally get completely lost and started vectoring my aircraft in the opposite direction for no apparent reason after it complained I was off course even though I was following the instructions (altitude/heading) it gave me. A second time it froze up on the ground and stopped directing ground traffic and I had to restart the flight.

At EDDB Berlin ground gave me instructions to taxi through a building and parked aircraft, so I guess that particular gateway airport needs fixing (I'll take a look in WED and try to submit a fix for it)

Enabling the visualisation in the Developer menu is useful as it plots what the ATC is thinking on the map view and it's possible to see when it becomes confused and try to trip it back into giving normal instructions. It's definitely an improvement but it still needs quite a bit of work IMO.
