I usually use a VR headset (PSVR2) and this is quite demanding on the cards even with lower resolutions (I don't have a 4k monitor) and suspect it's more demanding than a 4k monitor. Either card has more than enough headroom in terms of VRAM.With high settings on VR the usage can often go beyond 20 GB. MSFS is definitely a different beast of a game...... Make sure you have enough RAM......

I had a 4070 Ti which was insufficient and therefore upgraded to the 5090 with which I've had minimal OOM/VRAM issues. My older PC has a 3090 which again allows higher settings but doesn't have the DLSS capabilities of the later cards. Also consider saving up or stretching your budget if that's possible

I'm with you on this one now. I will be buying from the developer directly in future or from other platforms that are quicker to provide updates to their customers from the developer.

Well Tuesday and Thursday have come and gone and I am stuck on 1.1.0. I have asked for a refund from Microsoft and will purchase directly from developers from now.

Not for me sadly. My installed streaming version and the marketplace still shows only version 1.1.0 for me. I'm beginning to regret having bought on this platform instead of the developer site-how long will it be before it gets updated on the MSFS marketplace for customers who purchased there like myself?

Well that's your opinion and I have mine. I find it strange you are attributing the use of antivirus programs to being "stuck in the past" and "paranoia". I use RealTurb and think it would be helpful if the actual developers would clarify the reason for the warnings on anti virus scanners.

While this may be a false positive your advice is technically inaccurate. I have ESET NOD32 installed on top of Windows security and they work fine together. FYI Virustotal is an online website and has a well earned reputation from picking up unwanted bundled Trojans

I have the 9800x3d.It works fine There's no perfect answer. Some suggestions that there is less faffing around with setting core affinities with the 9800.YMMV.At the end of the day the sim is still to be optimised.Go with what you can afford/need
