MS login and Honeycomb Alpha Yoke. FS2024

Featured Replies

When you receive your copy of ms2024 or any other time you need to login to MS, there is going to be an issue doing that if you have an Honeycomb Alpha yoke connected. Believe it or not, this is a real issue. When you try to enter the box to put in your email and/or password, you will not be able to do so when some of the switches on your alpha yoke are in the wrong position. Sounds crazy. But it's true.

So just remember if you have problems typing in the MS login box, start throwing switches up and down on the yoke until you can do it. This issue also applies when in fs2020 you log out after clicking your user name in the box on top. To log back in and be able to start fs2020 again will depend on switch positions of the your Alpha.

I tested this just now by logging in and out of fs2020. I had to have the switches in the right position to get that done.

Here's where the issue appears:

The red and white and black switches...

So why not just disconnect the yoke ahead of time?

that works too. I would rather throw switches. The ALT switch seems to be involved.

This must be one of the more absurd issues... I did not know about it and I do have the Alpha. Good to know, thanks for the heads-up!

Without the internet, I might never have solved it. I mean, start moving rocker buttons to enable logging into MS account would never occur to me.

BTW, I bet this is going to flood Zendesk and MS help if people need to log into MS in order to get their 2024, and they have an alpha yoke, LOL.

1 Steam. 2 Store. or 3 Store keys. I used number 3 tonight. It took 1/2 hour to receive the key (8:40 to 9:10 PM Pacific time Nov 18). And then it Pre-Installed perfectly into Xbox App using key. It shows up in the Play box (when clicked it says wait for official release, but it is already installed).

Came across this thread after my Steam FS2020 came up with "login".  (So I guess I lost all my settings?).   I was wondering if it could be a controller issue as it seemed like I couldn't keep focus on the form input box.  But I don't have an Alfa.  My stuff is all old from FSX days.  I didn't test unplugging all the controllers as I found if I copied my email / passwd to clipboard and started hitting ctrl-V over and over while clicking with mouse, eventually it would accept the input.  Something MS should fix if it's still an issue in 2024.

I run all my computers on local account users and rarely (like never) login to MS store (which I think works for xbox etc?  At least the passwd I had worked).

I had the Microsoft login issue as well, after a lot of googling I found that simply hitttng the FN + F11 keys was the solution. My keyboard does not have an "FN" key (some apparently don't)...F11 (toggles Full-Screen mode) worked for me.

Thanks.  Will note this if it ever happens again.
