A few from FS9

Featured Replies

Hi all,

wanted to know if my backup of the old sim is still flyable in Win10 and it's perfect, even better than before. More than 20 years old...

The OS is sometimes a bit annoying but overall first class.

So here I have a few shots showing various aircraft and locations. Most planes are perfectly flyable though some have only a nice 2d-panel.

And it's interesting to see that in some details the sim is even better than msfs:

- Hop from one location to the other in 30 seconds and change the aircraft from the airport in 30 seconds.

- Very nice little tooltip labels, readable but does not bother at all.

- Outstanding performance and quality of the WOAI-traffic, never again had this in any sim. The aircraft works in FSX as well but the converted flightplans not really.

And there are a lot more. But it's a general problem of mankind that during development they sometimes do it all from scratch again.

The hottest B200 of all times by Aeroworx, freeware CYYJ by Don Crovestine. The plane sadly does not even work in FSX.

CS B757-200 but I have to fix the registration there, cannot fly it.

B727 Vistaliners by Eric Cantu and hosted by HJG. Has one of the best 2d-panels I've ever seen. The WOAI-AI traffic here is set to 80 percent, looks funny. 🙂

FS9 and old gold in a nutshell, Andreas...🙂...

Yes, 20+ years ago, 2003...my first SIM actually...while looking for movie DVDs in one of those bottom-less bins of Walmart ...🙂...I'd picked this one up...Later on, FSX was from a store called Fry's Electronics...which is gone now...

Great set of pictures here...the Vistaliners folks (Eric Cantu et al.) had made wonderful freeware contributions and kept this non-aviator in the game and I'm here now flying MSFS2024...🙂... BTW, that LH 727 still looks marvelous...

Thanks for sharing...!

Thank's a lot P_7878, glad you like the shots. And it's not only the LH 727, for me some of the liveries at HJG are really fantastic.

And very little texture size compared with what they do today. And Eric Cantu is a master but he never did virtual cockpits as far as I know.
