November 23, 20241 yr I'm sorry if it was answered nefore, just van't find correct answer. Is there any way to change default jetways style? Maybe the model or at least textures. I am not talking GSX or SODE< i"m talking all of the default CTRL J jetways
November 24, 20241 yr The methods in v4 and earlier (and FSX) don't work in V5 (and I guess v6 neither). Maybe this is because the jetway model in v5 has a different texture mapping. The only way I know of changing jetway models is by installing GSX Level 2. This is what I use currently. I hope to be wrong, but I haven't found any developer offering modified textures for the v5 jetways. That's why I mentioned going GSX L2 and their SODE jetways. November 27, 20241 yr Author I understood the point about the texture I will extract it from the installation archive But I have asked another question can I substitute the jet with texture from any other?

November 28, 20241 yr Yeah it really sucks that nobody ever made replacement textures for the jetways for P3Dv5. I also wish there was more texture replacement options for the buildings too. Both the default airport building textures and jetway textures look absolutely just terrible imo. The only options I've found for the buildings are by Zinertek and you also can manually install (copy/paste) the textures from REX World Wide airports, though P3Dv5 airports have some extra buildings that older versions didn't have so some buildings still have the default textures. Both those options are definitely better than nothing but I really wish someone would make some nice textures specifically designed for all airport structures in P3Dv5. November 28, 20241 yr Author Anyway, the end of the story is that I have downloaded SODE Object placer, it is super easy to use, you can take any jetway from any payware scenery, and I have 400 of them and attach to anything, anywhere. Takes you 3 minutes, WYSIWYG, and you have a beautiful custom jetway where you want it.

The one of the biggest reason I still use it is because of the huge selection of unique and interesting aircraft and other add-ons that works with it that no other simulator can offer (with the exception of FSX) as well as the ability to mod it in nearly endless ways to my liking. I also prefer hanging out with the FSX and P3D community over X-Plane community, I find that FSX and P3D users are often times much more friendly and willing to help than a lot of the gatekeepers, trolls, some of the moderators and admins that hang out over at x-plane.org for example. I one time got a warning and rep points deducted from my account because an admin decided a post that I wrote was "useless information" when I asked a question regarding a sale on a particular aircraft in the org store. I understand though why many users have moved on to other more modern sims though, P3D is a very hands on and high maintenance simulator that can require a lot of effort to keep it working well. It certainly is not for everyone. November 29, 20241 yr Moderator For a dead sim it’s remarkably robust and stable. I flew Manchester to Singapore yesterday using the PMDG777-200LR with its intelligent acceleration feature. A 12h 20m flight took 5.5 hours and not a single blip. Working radar too. What’s not to like? 😁 Ray (Cheshire, England). November 29, 20241 yr Yeah, I've been enjoying this so-called "dead sim" a lot. Furthermore, I've been able to convert some MSFS liveries into P3D for the models I have in both sims (Maddog, 737NG and MD-11). One reason less for missing the other one. I'm even considering to purchase an airport (something I seldom do) and/or the 737 Max for v5, but I was expecting better offers for today 😂 Edited November 29, 20241 yr by Luis Hernandez Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. This is my personal opinion of course, I have no issue with people who like it. When it comes to flight sims, I normally like to wait and see what people are saying about it and how further development of it progresses before I take the plunge. Back in the day I didn't even buy FSX until SP2 was released.
