December 5, 20241 yr Is it actually Live Aurora? If so that's very impressive, have they mentioned which Space Weather partner they get this from? need to go hunting for this myself! December 5, 20241 yr Was wondering about this a few days ago and figured it might just be for effect in the extreme latitudes (i.e. randomly shows up), but great if it's based on actual IRL live occurrences! And then in theory, given the new feature for 24 hr preservation of all the MSFS world beyond just basic weather, we should be able to go back in time and see this 🙂 Also the effects don't appear to be overdone which is good.. only when the solar winds are very strong (unusual) should we get to see the various other colors like reds/blues/pinks.. green is the usual color as that's the most likely to happen (weak to medium strength solar particles interacting with oxygen at lower altitudes in the atmosphere). Now if only they'd render the Milky Way as the naked eye would see it and not how it appears in long-exposure photographs 😅 Edited December 5, 20241 yr by lwt1971 Len 1980s: Sublogic FS II on C64 ---> 1990s: Flight Unlimited I/II, MSFS 95/98 ---> 2000s/2010s: FS/X, P3D, XP ---> 2020+: MSFS Current system: i9 13900K, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM, 4TB NVMe SSD

January 4, 20251 yr Yes it’s based on real world data. You can get apps that tell you Aurora probabilities, this is likely using the same data source. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
