Is the VisionJet in 2024 the same as Flight FX?

Featured Replies

Is the VisionJet in 2024 the same as the one from Flight FX? Does the G3000 have the same features? Has it been updated to use the 2024 flight model?

The 2024 version (MS) is fully based on the 2020 version (FFX). It has been updated though.

Imho the flight model seems better but I'm not an expert on that. It seems to me MS removed the 'fix' that FFX made in order to make taking off and landing 'better': in 2020 the wind and turbulence doesn't seem to have an effect under a certain altitude and that effect suddenly kicks in above that altitude. FFX simply removed the influence of wind etc. in a cfg to make the plane more controllable during take off and landing. IIRC this also had to do with initial problems during taxi. By simply removing the influence of wind FFX 'solved' this. MS undid that fix and seems to have solved the problem behind this properly (ground control in 2024 is a lot better anyway) and not with an unrealistic 'fix'. But again, I'm no expert on this.

They have added things to the G3000. For instance alll CTG screens now default to the correct ones (which is great). The initialization also is more realistic (like having a Next button and a Weight and balance screen showing on the MFD once you get to Weight and balance).

Also CAPS now works and so should the Safe home option but that one seems to have a bug at this moment.

There are a few bugs though, like the speed doesn't drop automatically in FMS mode when lowering gear and flaps and the IPS Stall Offset Reset is inop. They also removed the headphones and hence also the noise cancelling. The tablet is also gone as is the Flaps speed page but afaik that one wasn't realistic.

I prefer the 2024 version. Other prefer the 2020 version though for some reason.

Are you able to access the electronic checklist in the MS version?  That was one thing I noticed...it would not pull up like in the FFX version..

Ah, forgot that one, no, that one doesn't work (yet) either. You can find a checklist in the EFB but that's not the same. Hopefully they will fix this too.

I haven't touched the 2020 Vision Jet in MSFS 2024 and am flying the Asobo version exclusively.

There are no electronic integrated checklists anymore, but other than that the Asobo version flies very well. Love the walkaround feature. The old version doesn't have that.
