Exporting 2024 Profiles

Featured Replies

I've spent a good deal of time over the last few weeks tweaking my keyboard and controller files and now I'm looking at reinstalling MSFS2024. Is there a way to export them to a file and then import them after reinstalling?

There is. Some posted here earlier how to do this. Sorry,

i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"

For MSFS2024 search for folder name "2537590" ... if using Steam it will be under your main Steam folder (not necessarily the same as your MSFS2024 install location).  Controller profiles, logbook, etc are stored here.  For MSFS2020 the folder name is "1250410".

If using steam be a good idea to turn OFF cloud backups /saves first. Then backup the data locally. Otherwise Steam, depending on the game, will overwrite your local saves IF the game devs don't allow 2 way syncing.

Some games on Steam I've not played for 10 years, got a new PC, downloaded them and miraculously there's my old save and progress (trophies WILL stay). Other times a new game has issues and I've deleted then come back and all my progress has been wiped (usually as new game version not compatible with my older saves).

There were multiple folders with what appears to be randomly generated names. Looking at the timestamps on those folders one looks like it might have been the last change I made.

I found it here but the folder under wgs had a different name:

C:\Users\user.WINDOWS-OSFS5FU\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs

There is a program, FS2020Control that will read your FS2020 profiles and show you a list of bindings but I can't get it to point to my FS2024 profiles.

Also cannot find such a file. I don't even have a SystemAppData folder in that path or is that only for 2020?

System 1: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @ 4.2GHz, 2x16GB DDR4 2600MHz CL18 RAM, EVGA RTX 3090 FTW, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 512GB, Seagate 2TB HDD, Windows 11 Pro 64bit, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog.

System 2: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D @ 5.7GHz, 2 x 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 RAM, ASUS ROG ASTRAL RTX5090 OC, 2 x 4TB Lexar NM790 M.2 PCIe 4.0, Crucial T705 2TB Gen5 M.2, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB, Moza AB9 with Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Flight Stick, Winwing Orion Rudder Pedals, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Throttle Quadrant.

DAD - it will be under "…/Steam/userdata/" - but if you have multiple drives with Steam apps this may not be the same as your MSFS2024 drive. Suggest searching all your drives for this userdata folder and you should find "2537590" there.

I do not think Steam deletes configurations. I have uninstalled and re-installed FS2020 multiples times and it always remembers my settings and controllers, etc.

I assume FS2024 would be the same way.

Good news I did not know until i just read it. In 2024 since SU2 we can export Profiles.
