MSFS 2024 cannot return from flight to main menu

Featured Replies

Over the past three days I have a continuous issue.  When I leave a flight I cannot get back to the main menu.  MSFS zooms up to an aerial view and then freezes up.  Little spinning circle just stops.  I have removed addons and still am experiencing the issue.  Yesterday I did a complete reinstall of 2024 and that appeared to resolve the issue.  But today it is back.  Anyone else experience this?  Any resolution?

Happening with some planes, especially Inibuilds stuff and some other WASM planes. It is supposed to be fixed in the next patch.

Have seen the info about Inibuilds stuff but am not using any of that.

Here is an update.  Anyone recall the movie "Network".  I know. 1976 vintage flick.  At a famous point in that movie the star network anchor newsman opens a window, leans outside, and screams at the top of his lungs"

"I'm mad as hell and I'm not taking any more"

That is me right now.  After literally giving up this evening, in closing Addons Linker I inadvertently clicked that round green "launch simulator" button and thus started 2024 once again.  I tried again launching the same flight, since I had the simulator running.  Got it started and then tried again to reach the Main Menu.  IT DID!  What in the devil.......

I shut down, rebooted my system again, a routine and oft repeated step these past two days, loaded quite a number of addons with addons linker, started the simulator, tested.  Issues now gone as strangely as they appeared Friday evening.  I spent over 18 hours of frustration trying to fix issues that now are gone without me taking any steps since it was locking up 100% of the time.

What in the devil is going on!

MSFS 2024 is driving me nuts!

For your own mental health stop playing 2024 and go back to 2020. There's no setting or tweaks we can do on our end that will make 2024 playable.

Since I am flying at 6,000 and above in GA, and at FL350 and above in the Hondajet, the eye candy has led me to that conclusion.  15 of my last 20 hours have been logged in MSFS 2020.  Without issues.

Let's say, FS2024 has a lot of potential ... among others to drive one nuts. 😁

My approach not to run into Asobos evil madness trap: just trying out the various things that work (got Premium Deluxe, so a lot of aircraft to be tested), and avoid the most buggy parts (no career for me now). As I have a new rig, going back to FS2020 would require me reinstalling that stuff - not for now. Still too much goodies to explore.

They'll fix the most broken parts and we'll get aquainted to the rest. 🙂 Don't want to ruin my days with grief about a game, as real life is full enough with stuff to get mad about.

A streaming sim will, unfortunately, always have issues.
