January 10, 20251 yr I have not flown to KPDX airport in a long time and yesterday I noticed black lines on the river and even on parts of the FB KPDX. This was one of my favorite destinations and it's sad to see that it has been ruined by an update or maybe something else. Has anyone been able to nail down why this happens? Here's a long thread on the issue: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/black-lines-in-the-water/443618?page=2 MSFS

January 10, 20251 yr For what its worth, KPDX is my home airport and I am sim in this area weekly. I have never seen this, not once in MSFS 2020 since release. Do you have a specific photo from this airport area showing the Columbia Rive and these 'black lines'? The linked discussion does not show this area. There's some beautiful add-ons, but some make the water even worse. Is as if there's a layer of water (photo texture) that distorts the water. This is happening all over the Portland area. Only in the rivers, bu I have also some issues at KPDX. MSFS
January 10, 20251 yr I fly in and out regularly using Flightbeams KPDX and it always looks gorgeous in both 2020 and 2024 Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com
January 11, 20251 yr I just have a quick look with my MSFS2024 and the FlightBeam KPDX and didn't see any artefact on the river. Do you have a specific location to check? Vincent B. Check my free MSFS sceneries : https://flightsim.to/profile/vbazillio/trending and my hardware configuration.
January 11, 20251 yr Author If you depart from KTTD and fly down the river toward KPDX you might see the black lines pop in and out. I tried with no mods and they still appear. With PDXtreme - Hayden Island, I get disappearing tiles. It sucks because it's a beautiful location and add-on. BTW, all WU are installed and the only other place I've seen these black lines was in Maui. https://tinypic.host/image/3.2WA6Ah https://tinypic.host/image/2.2WA09Z https://tinypic.host/image/1.2WAQ3c Edited January 11, 20251 yr by CFIJose MSFS

Got it with your suggested flight. I certainly was looking for something more visible. Not saying it's not an artefact but was expecting something wider. MSFS2024. Vincent B. It brought back lots of memories. Maybe a creative dev might find a solution one day. For now, I had my fun in the Portland area. It's time to explore SFO. MSFS
March 22, 20251 yr I had those black lines around KPDX (and in many places around the globes), mainly around the river but also the line was extending to runway 10L. On the ground, it was forming a kind of crack and the scenery was not usuable because the aircraft would crash if it encountered the crack. Anyway, once I switched to optical fiber internet, the black lines were still there but it was way less visible and the crack on the runway was not there anymore, or at least so thin that the aircraft would not crash anymore. Haven't tryed on msfs24 yet. I haven't bough the upgrade to KPD 2.00 yet but I hope it is not worse that what it was in 1.00
