How to disable default content - aircraft, scenery etc

No the Content.xml is there indeed as indicated by Nuno, I cannot overemphasize how easy such a "clean-up" is with Addon-Linker (see Bad-T posts above) instead of dangerously messing around with your Content.xml file, even if you don't want to use AL afterwards, it will be a welcome help for this task alone.

Addon Linker can disable default content, that is not in the Community folder or AL's own main addons directory?

Yes. You can open the content xml with the icon towards the top right. Search for what you want to disable, and use a simple checkbox to set to user disabled.

So much quicker than going through the my library/content manager. Which is so awful these days. It’s very un streamlined with so many entries for the same scenery.

A little off topic but Missing Cpt_Piett I hope he’s well.

He is a valuable voice in this community that has disappeared from here and his YouTube channel. Anyways thanks for bringing up this thread as a reminder!

Ahh, thanks. I didn't know that. I thought AL only did it's stuff with content that was placed into it's custom addon folder. That is very useful - I may have to check it out again 👍

They moved it. It's now inside C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\<XBOX ACCOUNT USERNAME>\Content.xml

What i really wanted to know is how to remove variants and default repaints from planes such as the ATR. I don't want the 42 and wanted to remove all default liveries so i can focus on the ones i like instead of having to go through lots of useless stuff.

Thank you!!

The description on FSTO stated "An update is planned for January 2026" (posted last year).

Shame but I wouldn't hold my breath that this will become available again
