MSFS 2024 Stopped Working - Help Appreciated

Featured Replies

Hello,

When MSFS was first released, I could install and play with the Fenix fine.

Then, during one leg from LHR-INN, the scenery didn't load at INN—blurry textures, etc. I used the Map Replacement Tool, and everything worked.

Since that moment, the game has just been unusable. It's every time I open 2024, so I'm not sure I can lump this complaint onto the MS servers.

What happens

  • 92% - Loading unusually long
  • 93% - Bandwidth too low, loading times may be extended, and world streaming degraded
  • It finally loads after 8-10 minutes, but it looks awful:

What I've tried

  • Emptied Community folder
  • Disabled any 2020 content in the Marketplace
  • Tried NordVPN
  • Used Google DNS

Any other ideas?

I did a packet test too, and there were no losses.

Did you join SU1 beta?

If yes, after joining, did you reboot ?

So you still have remnants of the Map Replacement Tool installed?

Yes. I've spent a bit of time today and if I use the MRT, it works flawlessly. I'm happy to continue with this, but I was intrigued to try 24 natively with the SU1 beta update.

I'm actually in the PMDG 737 in 24 right now and it's working well. But when I'm on the ground, I'll uninstall MRT via the normal Windows way and then life should be good?

If that restores the sim to its native state, yes.  But in the past, this tool could leave traces behind if not closed properly.
