There are two fields on the Configure screen: Tail number and ATC number. The first one seems to be the only thing that has any influence. The ATC number field does not work.. at least not for me. Prior to yesterday the last previous mention of betas in this topic was back on January 27th, and I missed that as I came in much later. My bad. Hi Frank, this may or may not work if you are not on the beta, however, if you have a favorite custom livery that you like to fly, and you find that the sim insists on plastering a registration over top of the painted one, it would be easy to try to fill in the tail number field on the Configure/Identification screen and see what happens. Alt+255, enter creates an invisible registration that does not interfere with the external look of the plane. ATC does not have a tail number for you at that point, so if that would bother you, this is not the way forward.. Bert

The liveries I am attempting to work with have no painted numbers. All work perfectly in 2020 with appropriate edits to the respective liveries aircraft.cfg files, but 2024 is having none of it, even with the handful of tips here and elsewhere. Once again I am not participating in the SU beta. Like some other missing features and characteristics, I just have to wait this out. I've gone back to 2020 for about 60% of my flights due to some aircraft beta testing (all still 2020 development), lack of traffic, lack of compatibility of some of my favored aircraft. April 1, 20251 yr As of SU2 beta they seemed to have fix this issue! As long as the Tail Number line is blank in the sim, there will be no dynamic reg visible on the paint! But on aircraft that support dynamic reg you can simply type whatever you want and it seems to show! I tested on a few different addons like black square, carenado, FSR M500 etc edit: Oh a note, you MUST remove any NUL or NBSP (special characters) in any liveries (aircraft.cfg ATC ID entry) otherwise the sim will CTD. April 1, 20251 yr Ryan, this looks to be great news! Knock-on-wood that this "return to sanity" persists to the release of SU2... --Mike MacKuen

Does ATC still have a tail number for you? ie Does the second line in the Configuration menu work now? Bert
