That's been the most frustrating thing about PMDG over the last few years, exactly.  I've been interacting with the iFly devs about their Max (which I do agree with Bob; taken in total it's probably already better than the PMDG) and the difference is night and day, in terms of being pleased to consider feedback from folks with real-world experience.  I do understand that from a dev's point of view a certain amount of "vetting" of a source is necessary, but I think at some point you can figure out who you're talking to.  It got so tedious, needing to literally argue with RSR over the reality of every minor point, when the man has never even flown a Boeing.

I, too, hope they reevaluate at some point.

What really ticked me off about PMDG this time, is their total neglect of the DC6. It has so many problems, and when  you point them out, they imply that you either  don't know what you are talking about, or they have never even heard of that issue, despite other users on their forum posting about the same issues.

To be honest, hand flying has always been a weak spot of the PMDG.  There are several strange things about their flight model that they've always kind of ignored.  I've seen them push the narrative in

Hard to phrase it any better than that.

  • Since I got the iFly Max, I haven't touched either the PMDG 737 or the 777. To me, they are not top-tier anymore.

Whilst I love their planes (I have been flying them almost exclusively for the past decade), I do wonder why they are being stubborn with respect to issues like the "wobble" before turns, and also the lack of smoothness with respect to LNAV. I could perhaps understand their annoyance (to a certain extent) if it was someone like me directing critical comments their way, but when real world 737 pilots are insisting that something is wrong, I fail to understand why they would not be more attentive. These issues do not stop me from thoroughly enjoying flying their planes, but I would certainly prefer to see that "wobble" eliminated, and experience perfectly smooth LNAV performance.

They have been stubborn and combative since day one. After a programmer shakeup during the initial start-up, one of them left PMDG, and they toned down their attitude a bit, but not enough. What puzzles me is their denial of RSR and persistence in not fixing the obvious issues.
In addition, he and specific team members disrespect real, qualified pilots who have spent thousands of hours in equipment because they call out bugs in the hope of improving their product.

Other developers appreciate outside help from qualified people, but them.
Something is terribly wrong with them for not fixing the obvious.

Now, when you say they get annoyed about "someone like me directing critical comments their way,  " that should not be an issue. If the comment is inaccurate, it should be addressed professionally.

The bottom line is that RSR brings down this company with his business attitude and for not fixing the obvious. His ego is hindering the company's success.
