February 12, 20251 yr Hi, after all this years - how do you manage trim in these aircrafts ? I still dont get it why a small adjustment feels like rollercoaster A2A Comanche is really something else MSFS2020 btw - hopefully MS2024 feels better Thanks Michael Moe Michael Moe
February 12, 20251 yr For the Comanche, there is an elevator trim speed in Advanced options (on the tablet). My slider is set to about 1/3. FS2024 • PMDG 738, 77F • FSL A321 • A2A Comanche, Aerostar • BS Baron, Bonanza, Caravan Pro • JF Tomahawk • TAOG H500C BeyondATC • GSX Pro • ChasePlane & Flow Pro • TDS GTNXi • FSUIPC • AutoFPS • RealTurb 9800X3D B650E • ROG OC RTX 5090 • 64GB DDR5-6000 • VKB Gladiator, STECS, T-Rudder • Tobii 5 • ISP 1 Gbps

Yep thats why i still have a hard time flying the PMDG's birds. You apply a little trim and 2 seconds later its a roller coaster. Finding the balance is hard More normal in Ifly737 Max Michael Moe Michael Moe

Finding the balance is hard More normal in Ifly737 Max Michael Moe It's not just the trim, the aileron, elevator, and rudder controls are so sensitive in MSFS. You see those videos of pilots landing in some lively weather swinging the yoke around, if you tried that in MSFS you'd be doing a barrel roll. You always have to dial the sensitivity right down. I fired up IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 the other day as it was going cheap on Steam. With my VKB controllers I didn't have to change a thing, aileron, elevator, rudder, and trim input were all fine. February 12, 20251 yr To be honest, hand flying has always been a weak spot of the PMDG. There are several strange things about their flight model that they've always kind of ignored. I've seen them push the narrative in their forum that airline pilots basically don't hand fly so it's not that important. Dunno .. I usually hand fly up to 18k, and click everything off on base / intercept heading 🤷♂️. Agree that the iFly feels a lot better. Andrew Crowley

Hand flying the PMDG in MSFS I think I've done once where I just flown it around the city to see how it behaves, but I don't remember if I encountered any trim issues. But I may have the sensitivity adjusted down. But I do remember flying the PMDG 737 in FS9 and FSX was a pleasure to hand fly. How did you manage to adjust sensitivity for electric stabilizer adjustment trim? Never seen that anywhere besides as mentioned with external flughtmodels like the A2A Comanche as example. I also really like to handfly up/below 10000 feet Michael Moe Edited February 13, 20251 yr by Michael Moe Michael Moe

The issue is that ASOBO got this one wrong. There is no momentary delay in stab trim response. In real airplanes, when you use the stab trim, there is no delay; it's instant. This can be adjusted only if you have FSUIPC. If you do, let me know, and I will tell you how to do it. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

It would be best if you could reply here so anybody could benefit from your knowledge on the most realistic way to set elec trim. Thanks a lot in advance. SN737

Didn't notice this post. Please delete the assignments in the MSFS menu and create them only with FSUIPC. We need to avoid conflicts. I assume that you already have the trim switches set via FSUIPC. If not, do so, or let me know if you need any help. Next, in FSUIPC directory find fsuipc7.cfg file and edit this entry to show this. [Buttons] ButtonRepeat=20,0 After this change, you will have no delay in actuating this elevator trim. Best regards. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

Thanks a lot man. Yes I got it configured through FSUIPC through preset selection: PMDG B737 Elevator Trim Inc, PMDG B737 Elevator Trim Decr. But I already had Button Repeat with this option set: [Buttons] PollInterval=25 ButtonRepeat=20,10 Should I try with 20,0? Edited February 13, 20251 yr by SN737 SN737
February 13, 20251 yr Ok I set it with your value, the difference I'm noticing is that when I release the trim button now the wheel keeps rolling for a second which did not happen with msfs elev trim assignmet. SN737
