February 13, 20251 yr As some of you know, I couldn't get MSFS2024 to load for about three weeks. I finally got it to load after deleting the sl.pcl.dll file. It ran fine after that and I closed and reopened the sim about four or five times while loading a few files in my Community folder, one at a time. Every time everything worked okay. After a short flight I shut down the computer for the night. This morning I started the sim and it did exactly the same thing and wouldn't load. I again deleted the sl.pcl.dll file and it loaded again. I don't know what this file controls but it is surely a bug somewhere. Anyone have any ideas on this? February 13, 20251 yr I don't have these problems but after some google search it points to a Nvidia dll for streaming, maybe you have to do a clean installation of your Nvidia drivers. The internet says that it is a conflict with Nvidia graphics card drivers, when using DLSS. I do, but I am still on Driver version 560.94 and do not have this problem in either MSFS or MSFS 2024. The reason that you need to keep deleting the dll is that every time it starts, MSFS checks itself and as necessary, replaces required default files. Possibly, you could roll back your driver version to mine and hopefully have the same trouble free experience. If you wanted to, here is the link: GeForce Game Ready Driver 560.94 | Windows 11 | NVIDIA It's for Windows 11, so you will need to make your own search if your Windows version is different. You can do that here: Download The Official NVIDIA Drivers | NVIDIA After you have clicked on Find, scroll down to the "Other versions" tab. Click on that and you will see them all listed. Scroll down again to the 560.94 version. Be sure to click the make a clean installation box before you install it. For the record, this is just an attempt to help Roy with his particular issue, only offering what works for me, in the hope that it will also work for him. To everyone else, YMMV. I changed back and forth between 572.42 and 566.36 which I finally settled on since it worked for months without a problem. After all my problems I hesitate now to mess with the drivers. I am 88 years old with limited funds and I can't justify the price of a better GPU. I just want to fly from point A to point B and the 1660ti does that satisfactorily. Thanks for your input, Roy Roy I will soon be selling my 3080 on ebay and don't expect to get much more than £300 for it, so an upgrade might not be that expensive when you factor in what you might get for your old card and the fact that ebay are no longer charging sellers fees. MSFS2024 is a GPU killer compared to MSFS2020 and whilst I ran at 60 FPS in ultra on 2020, I can only manage 60 FPS on high settings in 2024 using DLSS4, the FRG mod and the excellent AutoFPS program. February 13, 20251 yr *If* the issue is nvidia driver related, I'd like to suggest trying NvCleanstall (https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-nvcleanstall/) and DDU (https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/). Both will help to get a clean driver installation. Remember to make note of your current nvidia control panel settings though. Also - you don't mention whether you're running Geforce. I'd suggest installing the drivers without it and see if that helps.
