RTX HDR - WOW!!

Featured Replies

Hi,

Freestyle Filters in NVIDIA stopped working for me lately (MS2024 crashes)

My rig: AMD x870E, AMD Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5070ti.

For now, I've managed to set HDR ON (both in Windows and in game) and compensate contrast, color and gamma with NCP with acceptable results (but still having sky and clouds overexposed).

I think there are no alternatives (except Reshade, which I don't like it at all)

Greetings

Will have to give this a try.  I have used HDR10 from time-to-time within the SIM and it works well.  The downside I have found is that taking screen shots can be a challenge as the images come out ov

  • You can use the Xbox game bar to take screenshots and they look pretty good, even while using HDR. At least that’s what I do, and the shots look great. I think they automatically tone the brightness a

It is. And if you have an HDR monitor with 600nits or more, just calibrate it properly and you’re good to go.

I just tried this - not with the nvidia app (as it messes up nvidia profile inspector which I need to enable DLSS4) - but using NvTrueHDR. It looks allright - but I haven't done a side-by-side comparison with "native" HDR.

Unfortunately, I cannot use it when making videos.

I recently got an HDR capable monitor and just wanted to mention because I saw a couple of comments about screenshots washed out that I found with the Steam version of the sims if I use F12 from Steam's overlay to take a screenshot it apparently converts it to SDR.  So you can fly in HDR and not have gray washed out screenshots if you're on the Steam version of the sims.

Have you tuned your HDR with the Microsoft HDR Calibration Tool?  You need this calibration tool so MSFS only pushes out the brightness your monitor can display.
