Thanks...that did it. I don't use frame generation so that's no problem. Garry Garry Lundberg

Good that it offers more tuning though, that's one thing I hope will be part of the default HDR offering in time. That's interesting. I actually noticed the opposite and had quite a big increase in FPS. However, I can't attribute that to HDR as I also updated my Nvidia driver and went back to BATC EA rather than Experimental at the same time...

March 6, 20251 yr I though RTX HDR is not true HDR, but sort of like a HDR-like feature if «native» HDR is not available 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

I only tried it on one flight so far but thought it looked much, much better than native HDR in MSFS (which isn't implemented particularly well if we're honest). Quite a few opinions online and people often prefer it over native in other games too. During my first flight, the colours looked much more life like than with native HDR, the contrast was better, the image didn't look as washed out as it normally does and I didn't notice the awful auto-adjust brightness I normally have. No harm in trying it out - easy to revert back if you don't like it.

I may try calibrating HDR again with the Windows HDR calibration app to see if it gets better. At night in a dark cockpit, on the ground, light rain, mind blowing. I have the same monitor and totally agree about night flights...it's absolutely gorgeous. I recently got the Nvidia App, and I noticed a new RTX HDR option. I tried it, and all I can say is WOW. I believe it is much better than using the HDR 10 option in MSFS. If you want to try it: Install the Nvidia App. Turn ON HDR in windows. Launch MSFS and turn OFF HDR 10 in the graphics options. Save settings and quit MSFS. Turn ON RTX HDR for MSFS in the Nvidia App. Launch MSFS and double check that HDR 10 is still OFF in MSFS. Press ALT + Z and toggle ON RTX HDR. Configure RTX HDR as per your preference. I left mine at default, and I think it looks great. I also tried toggling ON the RTX Digital Vibrance option, but even after adjusting it I didn't like the brightness and saturation that it adds. But to me using RTX HDR is really good in MSFS, especially at sunrise and sunset. Two questions 1/ Will this work with Win 10 too ? 2/ Should I enable HDR on my Alienware AW2723DF too ? I have it turned off for now. Which mode in SMART HDR on Alienware monitor ? Desktop or Movie HDR or Game HDR or the Display HDR 600 ? Thank you sir :)

I tend to dabble in making YT videos - making a complete word not allowed of myself - but since uploading 4K HDR videos takes pretty much forever - I might try RTX HDR. In that case I need to install GeForce Experience (if it even exists) or the Nvidia App - since I have neither of those. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
