This, plus the large high centred over Scandinavia and later, the British Isles, has resulted in cloudless skies over the majority of the country. I cannot recall such an extended period of cloudless skies in one of the cloudiest areas of Europe. What a contrast to the overcast skies last November and again in February. My solar panels think Christmas has arrived! 😁🌞

That explains it! Yesterday I flew in the UK for the first time in many months (EGLL-EGPH) with those clear blues and light winds. Never saw a cloud, which had me wondering if the sim's (2024) WX data was off line. It seemed pretty odd!

Well, Omega Block is a term I've not heard before.

Utterly cloudless skies here in Guernsey, lovely weather. Been like it for a few days and set to continue all week.

I'll be moving to the same island as your relatives in a few weeks, Ray. I gather the weather is slightly warmer than Guernsey?

@martin-w, it was mentioned on the BBC1 six o’clock weather forecast. Pretty rare for them to get so technical.

I can’t imagine the climate is any different in Jersey. Still one of the sunniest places in the British Isles. 👍

Indeed. It agrees with your opinion. It's the fact that it's a bit warmer in the summer that fools people. They don't realise that the somewhat cooler winter in Jersey compensates and that, therefore, the average is pretty much the same.
