Custom Camera Views problems

Featured Replies

Has anyone run into this?   My standard custom camera cockpit view which I select with shift+f1 and set with shift+5 suddenly insists on positioning me outside the cockpit.  It has worked correctly for months and now refuses to cooperate...  I checked the keyboard control settings, and they claim to still have these keys active.. but it is not working as intended..   What next?

Try exiting the sim and retry.  I think there's a bug in FS2024 where if you edit the cameras in one aircraft and then enter another aircraft, the viewpoint coordinates don't reset correctly.  I'm not sure about the details; but I avoid it by exiting the sim whenever I'm finished setting new custom camera views.

Thanks, I think you are right..  the first aircraft is OK, but after switching to another, the problems begin.. 🫢

The problem you describe has come/gone/reappeared/disappeared and is now only an occasional irritant.  It has happened in a variety of planes.

I found that the horizontal position in the camera/cockpit settings was being "changed" by some unknown force or gremlin.  I have several generic profiles (single engine GA, multi-engine GA, jet, glider....) and some but not all horizontal positions were being changed.  My understanding is that the horizontal position is not linked to the profile, but when the problem occurred, it occurred in all planes using that profile, but did not occurr in other profiles.

The whole issue of control bindings changing at odd times is a big irritant for me.  I really do not like it when I get into the C172 and find only the throttle lever is not working or when I jump into the Honda Jet and my button on the stick assigned to the autopilot is now turning the autothrottle off or on. It is difficult to verify all bindings are working as expected before a flight.

Are you on SU2 beta? I had this problem until SU1 but the first SU2 beta seems to have fixed it. Never had it after that.

I'm using SU2 and none of my keyboard camera controls are working properly.
