So at least in 2024 if you really like the eye candy it has something to offer but in 2020 it's not even comparable.

Psolk, you say you only have the Trip 7 but you with confidence allude that the 350 is just anther pretty skirt, hands down.  Well I have a different opinion.  I have both and have put hundreds of hours in both aircraft with a caveat my Trip time was in the 2020 300.  With all that said both aircraft are exceptionally modeled, system depth and simulation breadth seem on par.  Having both I say either will satisfy even the most demanding. All my opinion of course, but one born of real and practical experience.  All respect,

  • I find it strange people answering the OP question start by saying 'I don't have it'  .....

  • I don't have it, and I don't know if I will. To me, a plane that's released at full price and has received 9 patches so far in less than 3 months is simply not bearable. I've been reading about i

  • i only have the 777 however I share the same sentiment as others.  I would add that in 2024 at least the 350 has a detailed cabin and some nice eye candy.  In 2020 in addition to be below PMDG in syst

Not sure why you singled me out when multiple people said the same thing but fair play.

My comment was more alluding to the fact that in 2024 the 350 has a beautiful cabin and lots of 2024 animations with bells and whistles which were 2024 specific and couldn't be included in the 2020 version of the 350, hence in 2020 the 777 was more complete "from my perspective". I think my exact comment was "at least in 2024 you get all the eye candy"  which was meant as a compliment as the cabin details and interior are beautiful.  In '24 the 350 has FAR more ey candy and that's NOT an insult.   I was also totally transparent I don't have both so was just giving my opinion.

Couple that with 8 or nine patches to address multiple issues in the first few weeks and the 777-300/F being completely stable and designed for 2020 seemed like the better bet in 2020 (to me in my personal opinion.) which is what the OP asked.

Where did I call anything a pretty skirt though?   Because I said the 777 could do the full Boeing acceptance flight with every test completed as expected and I didn't think the 350 could do the same it's now just a pretty skirt?

I think the 350 is a beautiful bird, the fact they still can't get the landing gear bogies right is a personal pet peeve but if I were an Airbus guy I would absolutely pick it up in 24.  Not "my choice" in 2020 without all the bells and whistles though.  To not include "any" cabin in a release for 2020 in 2025 is a bit meh to me personally.  It was an afterthought to include it in 2020, that's well documented.

I'm extremely happy for you that you are happy with both and they are both good experiences for you though!!  I'm welcome to other opinions and ultimately if people are happy that's all that matters.

That's just my opinion but please don't put words in my mouth.

With respect.

Paul. Fair call on the single out.  It really was not intentional, but it did happen so please accept a sincere apology.  And where did Pretty Skirt come from?  I was simply reflecting to your allusion that the 350 was mostly eye candy in 2024, and not even a contender in 2020.  Eye Candy / Pretty Skirt?  You had chosen a metaphor, I chose one too. Simple.  No guile intended.

As for the patches you are quite correct. 8 patches.  In weeks not months.  All true.  But have you considered the developers faced significant hurdles, seen and unforeseen.  Not an excuse, just a fact shared by the PMDG team more than once.  But through that effort they have brought to life a magnificent and complex beast.  Every bit on par with my new Trip 7. Also if you have studied the 350’s development, Patch 8 gives a host of new functions new features.

So like you it’s my opinion which I clearly stated. I said you have an opinion as do I. We have both had our say and opportunity to clarify. You feel your judgement was a fair call, and you have that right.  I simply said here is a different point of view based upon experience not supposition.

Can we call quits now, no disrespect intended.  I really have nothing further of value to add.  Again, with respect,

-Braun

By all means Braun, no disrespect meant either.

Absolutely respect the opinion of someone who has it over my assumptions.

I'm actually astounded by the "eye candy" they included in 24.  I mean the whole plane is modelled it's fascinating what they have done.  It definitely exceeds even the -200 PMDG just released for '24.  INI has them hands down.

Nothing else to add either, be well and enjoy whatever you choose to fly in whatever sim you choose to fly it 🙂

I’m still scratching my head over the fact that we get so varying results with the A350?

Yesterday I flew the A35K in MSFS2020 from EGLL to FACT, 11:47 gate-to-gate. This was using v1.08, GSX, PSXT/AIG for traffic, latest Nvidia 576.28 - not.one.single.problem

Go figure …

Same here, I've had no major issues since day one.

FPS sucks, even with reduced textures and no-cabin, but I've not had a single bug that has made me need to quit a flight.

Is it really a surprise that IniBuilds wouldn't bother with a cabin in the MSFS 2020 version of the A350? I mean, they don't care about non PG users of their airports, so they do like to pick and choose with respect to which customers they consider to be the most important.

Oh, and they have still not corrected the misaligned runway centreline markings at EGHI Southampton (even after they assured me that it was on the list).

Here I can't agree with you, the 350 is far from satisfying the most demanding customers, I wish it was like that I would be very happy, believe me.

In terms of systems simulation, it is far behind other Airbus products such as those of Phoenix, FSlabs, Toliss. It is a mid-level aircraft for much less demanding people, but at a very inflated price that is not commensurate with what it offers, it is an aircraft of at most 40/45 dollars in its current state.
