Sedona to Page as real as it gets

Featured Replies

To test my new PC configuration (9800x3D+64 GB DDR5+5070ti+uwd 3440x1440), I’ve made this +1 hour flight, I did several time in real, connecting Sedona (KSEZ) and Page (KPGA) with the Grand Canyon transition. This time I wanted to check the smoothness, stability and the CPU+GPU temperatures. All where perfectly fine.

The total route and log as seen from iPad Foreflight. I could have flew at a little lower altitude if I didn’t get through the Canyon Special Flight Rules area. Alternative route is going to Tuba City VOR east of Grand Canyon.

Departing early morning from Sedona (KSEZ), Wind calm, I picked runway 3… that I think never saw active among the 10th times I flew there in real. Plane is the WB-SIM C172:

Relying on the autopilot and the two GNS: 11’500 ft is the altitude set to the corridor altitude requested to cross the Grand Canyon northbound.

Turning final, too high, but there’s plenty of room to slow down and deep dive to catch the glideslope… it’s a C172 🙂 :

Beautiful series of travelogue pictures here, Vincent...

Having visited a place that we fly in the SIM is good, but having actually piloted a plane there...is so much better ...🙂...

Glad your new PC configuration stood up to the challenge of (FS24) Arizona ...🙂...

Great shots and an interesting, realistic flight. Merci!
