May 21, 20251 yr I'm considering the same GPU (5060Ti, 16GB), but I come from a 3060Ti with 8GB. With an 5700X3D, 32 GB RAM, and a 1080p monitor, will this change be worthwhile? I understand raw performance would be similar, but there is double the VRAM. This is for MSFS (both 2020 and 2024) and P3Dv5. Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Running P3D v5.4 (with v4.5 scenery objects as an additional library, just in case), FSX-SE, MSFS2020, MSFS2024 and even FS9! Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.
May 24, 20251 yr At the moment, I'm using a 14700k, 64GB RAM and a RTX4070 (12 GB). MSFS2024 needs a lot of VRAM, so the question is, if an upgrade to the 5060ti would make sense in 4k resolution. Any ideas? Thank you very much! Edited May 24, 20251 yr by LarsA
May 24, 20251 yr From a 4070? I'm not sure it's an upgrade. And I'm not even sure if a 5060 Ti can do 4K reliably. As you can see above, I'm considering this one for just 1080p. June 12, 2025Jun 12 Author 4070 Isn't an option, as I don't want to upgrade my PSU. I'm ordering/building a new system, within the next year or so, so a 5060ti 16mb, is the max I'm willing to spend on my current system. That said, anyone running one successfully in 2024? Chris Camp
June 26, 2025Jun 26 Update: RTX4070 (12GB) replaced by the RTX5060ti (16 GB). What an amazing card for MSFS2024! On my system (14700k, Z790, 64GB) and after manually overclocking the 5060ti (GPU +400, VRAM +2000, 4k, FPS locked to 30 in the Sim with 2x DLSS4 FG) it reaches or beats the 4070 in benchmarks (3DMark) and in MSFS2024, I have 60fps stable without any stutters in Egll (inibuilds) with Fenix A320, full AI-traffic (AIG) and AS-weather. Textures are loading much faster than before with high quality without flickering. This was not possible with the 4070. The fast 16GB VRAM really makes a difference. I can highly recommend this card for MSFS2024, especially with the excellent overclocking potential. Edited June 26, 2025Jun 26 by LarsA

Just in time, since tomorrow is my payday. I know where I'll be spending the money 😂 Question: did you lock your FPS in RTSS, NVCP or directly in your MSFS2024 UserCfg.opt? And are you using a 4K monitor?
