MSFS2024 night lighting and flying

While I think this might help, I think the way the sim renders lights and night time settings in the core. In the first 2020 tech alpha, the lights were actually quite good and for some reason they regressed big time.

If I’m not mistaken, they use the sepia mask to illuminate the cloud base. They need a whole new approach on how they do this. Grand Theft Auto titles have better night environments for crying out loud, and this is a flight sim… where night flying is crucial.

Totallly agree with you.

I have played with the color settings in the NV Control panel and that made it a bit better :

Per Color Channel you can adjust

Brightness / Contrast / Gamma

Also Digital Vibrance and Tint

Oh wow, if you can't see it, then you must be having a lot of fun in the sim. This is TLOD 140 on a flight from Jakarta to Istanbul, overhead sort of between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, at FL350 or some

Yes, I remember they made it look a lot better in 2020 after we all complained about the sepia mask, and for some reason its regressed in 2024. Disappointing that's for sure

And this is how it looked years and years ago on the other sim, with an add on I hasten to add.  Just no glowing.  I also find it strange how there is no add-on to get rid of the sepia mask.  I'd hand

I'm still looking for a solution to the lack of panel lighting on dark days. Sometimes it's mpossible to read the gauges. None of my a/c will allow panel lighting to turn on in daytime.

I have the opposite problem.  Good G3000 lighting in day and dim late in the day.  My take is some kind of auto dimming takes over.

Hope SU2 fixes things.

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

Thank you.

What another sim has does not have to be mentioned multiple times as it won’t help us …
