Not really sure now if I did or not. I thought I did, but I'm 78 so that might say something.

Heh, you got me beat by a decade and sometimes I’m not sure either!  I have an appointment this morning that will keep me preoccupied for the next few hours but this afternoon I’ll make a few short videos of everything I did to get my PFP7 updated  and what I do to make it “light up” and display the PFP7 screen with the PMDG’s PFP.  I don’t have a hosting service for pics, but I can and do host videos.  In the meantime maybe one of the other kind souls here on Avsim may offer you a working solution.  Good luck and Blue Skies,

  • Howdy.  Funny you should ask because I’m currently on a 3 hour flight between KBAB to KMEM in the 777F and using the PFP7 as well as the WINWING FCU and EFIS.  For the PFP7 I’m using Simapp Pro, curre

  • Hi Walt,  The 300 should definitely work.   Have you been able to see the Winwing unit on the homescreen of Simapp?  If so skip to Section B: If not this would be my advice. Go ahead

PFP7 is not compatible with 737. I believe you can make it compatible with mobiflight and a profile from fs.to. This currently shows what is already supported.  https://imgur.com/a/uvkq2vb

Thank you my friend. I appreciate you trying to help me. I'm ripping my hair out on this one.

I purchased the PMDG 777-200 and I'm not sure if its compatible with my PFP7, so I just not purchased the PMDG 777-300er and from what I could see this one "IS' supposed to be compatible. Well I just tried again and "Nope" not working in this plane either.  Getting to be expensive just to get this to work. I will be attending Flightsim Expo in RI next month, so I may have to wait till them and talk to the folks from WINWING there.

Hi Walt,  The 300 should definitely work.
Have you been able to see the Winwing unit on the homescreen of Simapp?

If so skip to Section B:

If not this would be my advice.

Go ahead and uninstall Simapp so we can start fresh

Not sure how easy this is for you but as @btacon mentioned, unplug as many USB devices as possible, I have my peripherals on a Hub with on/off switches on each port for this very reason...

Unplug the Winwing PFP

Reboot.

Reinstall Simapp

Plug the PFP back in (to a different port if you have one so you can see the "installing new HW" message

Give it a minute and the PFP should show up on it's own on the home screen of Simapp. You may have to restart Simapp 1x

If you get this far successfully then we are in good shape!  If not something unrelated to MSFS is going on.

Section B:

Go ahead and shut down, plug your peripherals back in and restart the system.

Launch simapp and verify the PFP is visible on the homescreen

Launch MSFS

Reselect the 777-300 and a livery

Start your flight making sure you aren't using a custom panel state to be safe

Once you hit fly now and the plane initializes the PFP should mirror the CDU of the 777.

If not the problem is between simapp and MSFS/777.  You can try updating the firmware of the PFP unit within Simapp, that sometimes helps and/or try updating simapp.

I am not on the latest version so I can't confirm that version works on my end.

Hopefully someone smarter has a better suggestion for you but this should at least help identify where the issue is occuring.   I am mid flight or I would add screen grabs for you.

-Paul

Forgot to ask, do you use any other software for your HW?  Like Spad for example?   The reason I ask is I do and I had to disable the PFP from my Spad profile so it didn't try to control it as well as simapp.

I am doeing a 773 flight at the moment ( MSFS2020 ) and the Winwing PFP7 Panel ( over SimAppPro ) does work fine and well !!

Should work, if you have problems check your settings witin the SimApp in particular the path settings for the flight simulators you use..

cheers 😉

That could very well be my problem. I'm leaning towards a path problem.  The paths I have now  are the ones SinAppPro put in when I installed SimAppPro

Thank you Paul. I will try all of this and keep my fingers crossed. Not sure what you mean by a "Custom Panel State." I just PMDG 777-300er and have not even flown it yet so panel state should be virgin. I've made no adjustments. HW? I'm assuming Hardware, right? Thank you sooooo much. I'm hoping this will work. Appreciate all you fellow flyers do for me.  Hopefully we will see you an the Tarmac in Atlanta, Denver, Louisville or other airports on MSFS. Thanks Walt

Paul, your help fixed it for me, A BIG THANK YOU ! I was so upset because it wasn't working for me. I did everything you said and I'm good to go. Once again thank you to everyone here who helped me. A great bunch of people for sure. Since I just purchased the PMDG 777-300 not I have to learn to fly it. Hope to meet you in the sky some day. Have a great day. Walt

I agree it may be a path issue.  When I first installed sim app pro I recall finding the path descriptions not as clear as they could have been.

On another note, it sure would be good if winwing supported the 737max on the PFP7 given it’s closer to the button layout for the max than the PFP3.
