Winwing MCDU iFly Max 8 Help

Featured Replies

Finally got my MCDU the other day from Winwing.  It works fine with the Fenix A320 and Simapp in MSFS2020.  Not so with the iFly.  I hear, though, that it is now compatible with Simapp, but nowhere that I could find does it say how.   I have the MCDU and iFly working with Mobiflight and Python, but it was a chore to get it there.  So, my question is this:  Is there a way to link the MCDU and iFly Max8 through Simapp?  Or do I keep using Mobiflight and Python?  The Youtuber whose video I watched for instructions on Mobiflight says he no longer uses Mobiflight because it is now compatible with Simapp, and Mobiflight is no longer necessary.  He just doesn't say how he does it.  So, is there a way to link the two?  Is there a profile in Simapp for the iFly?  There was for the Fenix under the Key Binding tab, but nothing for the iFly.  I feel like that's the missing link, yet I have no idea where to go to get one or even if there is one.  So, are the two compatible?  And, if so, how?  Thanks!

I don't know if the MCDU does work over Simapp ( i think not ) but the PFD 3 panel does, at least with MSFS2020.

cheers 😉

Did you update the MCDU firmware through SimAppPro? Latest is v1.3 or 1.0.3. Check that unless you already upgraded

There is a new file on flightsim.to which is just plug and run for mobiflight now. It also has corrected the layout to match the FMC buttons with the Ifly placement.

Go get that instead. SimAppPro isusing up to 10% CPU load on my system allthough it works here out of the box

Sorry to jump on this, but does anyone know of a better profile for the PFP3 for the iFly so the buttons go to the correct page?

Thanks

Thanks everybody for the help.  Mobiflight it is.  I've been using it for the past few weeks, and it's been working well. So, it is here to stay.  Thought it was going to be a pain switching back and forth between Simapppro and Mobiflight, but it's really not.  Also, really loving the MCDU.  Game changer!  Thanks again.

Is switching between modeling and SimApppro as simple as running the program you want to use for a given flight, or is it necessary to make installation changes?

No need to make instalattion changes, you can even use both Mobiflight and SimAppPro at the same time running. I do that for the iFly 737-8 because the SimAppPro profile is missing the magnetic switch being turned off when I disconnect the AT. I added just that via a mobiflight profile and run both together

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Thanks for that.  I’d like to use my 777 FMC with the Max so the buttons are better assigned than the 737 FMC so I’ll give mobiflight a try.
