What is your FPS set to? Are you talking about the stuttering in this area? Because I get that too, but only when using lossless scaling and OBS for screen recording. If you play the video full screen on YouTube and look at the top left. You will see a graph line which is smooth. after about 20 seconds you will see the stutters show on that graph for about 25 seconds before smoothness returns. May 29, 20251 yr Hmm - if someone forced me to guess I would say it is some external process impacting your CPU - I don´t think it is X-Plane because you are not moving. If you want to get to the bottom of this, you will need to remove EVERYTHING you have added to X-Plane - basically reverting to a vanilla state (as if you just installed it). Then test again. If you have the stutters then, time to troubleshoot your hardware/operating system. If you don´t, it is time to start the process of elimination - add one add-on, test for (a few weeks) a while, then add the next add-on. I do sound like a broken record, but the more third-party, the more fragile your installation - also: Never add "a bunch of stuff" quickly, because when something like this happens, you have no idea WHICH of your addons brought it about.
May 29, 20251 yr Author I discovered the Microprofiler in the debug menu. The trace shows exactly where the stuttering starts and stops. There is an 'App Update' bar all the way through the trace in each 'Frame Segment', but when the stuttering starts, this app update bar is much longer for each frame. At the end of the stuttering this bar goes back to its original size. At the point the stuttering starts. So each 'Frame Boundary' it looks like XP12 isn't doing anything until the end of the frame. May 30, 20251 yr Well...there were statements like those below that I think made us all think it was coming from outside of XP. On 5/28/2025 at 7:48 PM, MrBitstFlyer said: If I check Plugin Admin I see no 'cost' against any plugin. If I go into the performance tab, I just see a solid circle for X-Plane - nothing that matches up to this stutter. If I monitor processes in task manager, I don't see anything in the process list that matches up to the stutter. In Microsoft Defender, I have excluded the folders for X-Plane and the folders used by the Map Enhancement tool. I have also run with no plugins at all... I think the real issue here is that XP's Safe Mode is still just too new to roll off our tongues as the first thing to check. Will be interesting to see what was causing it after all. Now find out which one of your add-ons is starting them. Again: "Pimping" your X-Plane installation can be fun and rewarding (for some more so than actually using it), but if you don´t go about it methodically with ample testing time in between each step, you will invariably find yourself in this spot again - suffering from crashes or other ill effects without knowing at which point you pulled out the card that makes your house of cards collapse.
