June 4, 20251 yr Tip, instead of a complete reinstall one can also run the installer against the current folder and let it repair whatever this skunkcraft has broken. Or remove the output and resources folders and let the installer do the rest. xplane is really flexible in this regard as it doesn’t change the windows registry.

Lovely and smooth with the second install, but immediate stuttering after installing it. Glad I know know I don't need it - I thought it was required to update aircraft 😡 The plugin-based updater is horribly out of date. This standalone version is actively maintained and runs outside of X-Plane: https://forums.x-plane.org/forums/topic/292710-20250206-skunkcrafts-updater-standalone-client-v32d-available/ 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
June 4, 20251 yr I seriously think people dont understand the function of the skunkcraft updater. It only updates those aircraft whose developers use it, saves a bunch of hassles like having to find out something was updated, redownloading than manually updating. Skunkraft updater only updates files that are needed. And yes as i did mention and as mentioned above, the standalone ver runs outside xplane. But not all developers are using it. So trying to find a updater file for an addon that isnt using it, is a waste if time.
June 5, 2025Jun 5 Note: Skunkcraft's updater works on all files of the base package, as defined by the add-on author. So if one has made alterations to any of these (e.g. new camera views in [acf]_prefs.txt, modified ACF file or any object or texture) and did not make backups or written down modification instructions, pressing "Update All" in the updater should be avoided. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

Or just run a second clean copy as any sensible person would do. Cant remember the last time i reinstalled xplane.
