Carenado 2024 GNS 530 issue

Featured Replies

Greetings,

Just purchased the Carenado 210 for 2024  and have a few flights.  For some reason I am having an issue with the GNS 530.  I can't get the frequency cursor to move from the Com window to the VLOC window.  You are supposed to press on the knob, but it doesn't work.  Is there a click spot there I can't find?  Anyone else have this problem?

Also, I initially had a problem on takeoff where the plane swerves to the left.  Others have reported the same issue.  I found that a gradual increase in power along with right rudder gets the airplane to track straight.

For the price I like it but typical Carenado.  Great looking but released with flaws.  It will be real nice airplane if the fix all the problems.

Thanks in advance

What plane, what sim?

EDIT: OK, I see you updated your post with the plane and sim info -- that's helpful.

Next questions are:
Are you using a standard livery for that plane, or a third party addon livery?

Does the GNS530 work correctly for you in other FS2024 planes?

Standard livery, checked the Carenado Dakota and the GNS in that aircraft works as it should.  At the present time my Community folder is empty.

I see you found the other recent thread on the C210 called Carenado C210n Turbo Centurion, so if you are still having problems with the GNS530 they should be able to confirm if there is an inherent problem with the GNS530 in that plane. I don't have the C210.

Thank you I will try that.  Its been making me crazy.  I like the airplane though.

Bert to the rescue again!
BTW cbreeze, just FYI, that click combo is the standard when using the Lock tooltip interactive system. If you use the Legacy tooltip interactive system, I think just a left click should work.  So it can be important to know which interactive system you are using.

Hi Bert, well I found it works as I said in FS2024 for default planes like the Basic Skyhawk, C185F, DHC-2 and the DC-3, and Flysimware planes like the C414 and the G-44A,  and the Black Square TBM850. Admittedly, a small sample of planes.

MSFS2024

I have the Carenado C210 (Bought on Marketplace directly on the sim). The knob that you have to press to switch between COM and VLOC, does not work on my sim. I have tried the combination of left/right click and then right/left click, but it does not work. It stays at the COM freq.
I have the C182RG and C337 from Carenado and the knob works perfectly on left click.
Any suggestions that can help me?
Thanks

Just checked.  You have to RMB/LMB at the same time to get it work if you're using Legacy mouse operation (which I am)

Be sure to click exactly on the center of these knobs otherwise it doesn't seem to work very well.

ryanbatc, thanks for this answer. Nobody explain that you have to press both buttons simultaneously. It is working fine now.
Much appreciated.
