I know, you’d think so, right? And yet again and again over the years/decades, FS in its various forms has always managed to stress the components in ways that the tests can sometimes miss … 😵‍💫

One thing is stressing the components, another thing is crashing.

If you pass OCCT's CPU+memory and memory tests and another hour of Unigine Heaven in loop with vsync off but can't complete a flight in FS2024, then I tend to put the blame on FS2024.

  • Some people would complain if they had their own Level-D simulator. They complain for the sake of it.

Yes that is the tendency of all of us!

But if you’re a getting a crash in situations which cause no issues for others, then there is something specific to your case.

Sometimes it turns out that you’re running software alongside FS, which is causing hiccups.

But - one would hope - most people with persistent issues will have excluded this, by using a fresh installation on a wiped disk.

If your issues continue after this measure, then it’s time to confront the disagreeable truth that there is something amiss with your kit.

I have found MSFS2024 to be VERY fragile when overclocking either your CPU or GPU.  When I set my CPU and GPU (9800X3D and 5080) back to stock settings, the sim became stable and I no longer experience CTDs.  For the record, all stress tests ran just fine with those previous over-clocks enabled.
