Microsoft flight simulator 2024 long loading time me

Featured Replies

Anybody else lately today noticed flight Sim 24 around 68% loading screen getting a message of unusually long loading times?

Not here - European server.

Just did the initial climb from CYYZ in the INIBUILDS 359, and not only did FS 2024 load fast but there were also absolutely no hiccups !

Check if you have any Win 11 update waiting to be installed.

Yeah I'm on the west server for the US. Check my computer and currently has the latest updates and no new updates available.

I've been flying all day and have not gotten any messages. Maybe a server issue on their side. Being a holiday and many users.

Nothing has changed. Been on the 3rd update since it came out. Been fine all week, even today this morning. Then when launching again it starts with that message

Update..deleted my 200gig rolling cache and this time it did not give me that message. Could be coincidence or the servers finally opened up

200GB?  That’s a BIG rolling cache … I run about 32GB rolling cache.  In my testing, that seems to be the performance sweet spot and no delays in loading.  Cache is one of those settings where too much can be bad and too little can be bad.  In other words the time it takes to check the cache for a hit exceeds the time it takes to go to the source = lower performance.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. - Carl Sagan

I now use 32GB as well for the rolling cache.
