September 26, 2025Sep 26 I just roled back to Nvidia driver 566.36 (no NVIDA app installed!) and still the sim refuses to start... The blue bar gets to around 50%, then the sim shuts down... So, please help me! I dont know how to solve this, what can i do? Best regards Pelle
September 26, 2025Sep 26 I ran into this issue a few weeks ago and unfortunately the only thing that fixed it was reinstalling the sim...I know....not what you want to hear. Before you do that though, run through the usual checklist of things to try like clearing DX cache and the below scripts. Also, try booting with a clean Community folder. --------------------------------------------------- Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth sfc /scannow Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup Ilya Eydis, PPL, ASEL

September 26, 2025Sep 26 Author Should I try another Nvidia driver? Or are there any other tweaks I can do to solve this issue... I remember a fellow who helped me with this problem some months ago, but I can't seem to find that old post, and I don't remember how I did to fix this issue...

September 26, 2025Sep 26 Author I can't get into the Simulator to see if I have dx11 or dx12, and I don't have the Nvidia app installed, since I remembered that that was the problem before... Are there any other ways to see if I have dx11 or dx12?
September 26, 2025Sep 26 Author Sorry for being stupid and novice, but I was looking for that Old post that I made a few months ago regarding this problem, but I can't find it, how do you look for your older posts in this Forum?

September 26, 2025Sep 26 Posted 20 hours ago (edited) Credit to AI and because I have seen this posted here before, not my information but you can do it outside the sim... To change MSFS to DX11, edit the UserCfg.opt file by finding the line PreferD3D12 1 and changing the 1 to a 0 using Notepad, then save the file. Ensure the UserCfg.opt file is not set to read-only before making the change. Here's a step-by-step guide: 1. Locate the UserCfg.opt file: Navigate to the following path in File Explorer: `%LocalAppData%\Packages\<<!nav>>Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\`. Find the UserCfg.opt file in this folder. 2. Check the Read-Only attribute: Right-click the UserCfg.opt file and select Properties. On the General tab, make sure the Read-only attribute is unchecked. If it's checked, uncheck it and click Apply then OK. 3. Edit the file: Right-click on the UserCfg.opt file and choose Open with > Notepad. Do not use Wordpad, as it can corrupt the file. Look for the line that says PreferD3D12 1. Change the 1 at the end of the line to 0 so it reads PreferD3D12 0. 4. Save the changes: Click File and then Save to save your changes to the UserCfg.opt file. Edited September 26, 2025Sep 26 by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
