October 2, 2025Oct 2 Hi In the month or so before MSFS2024 SU3 was released, I had been using the Fenix A320 quite a lot and was getting great results in VR. However, when SU3 was released I found myself in the middle of a stutter-fest. I tried all of the normal stuff but with no luck and, as I wanted to carry on with the Fenix, switched across to MSFS2020 - where it was a delight. I have now tried again (Fenix have done a couple of updates) and no better - it really isn't usable at all in VR in MS24 for me. Major stutters every couple of seconds inside the cockpit and outside. None of the 'usual' lowering of setting levels in either Pimax Play or in the sim graphics settings make any difference at all. In that I know that SU3 has had some more general issues, I thought I would try a few other heavy hitters and airliners, such as the crackingly good iFly 737. Smooth as silk! So was the default 320 neo, and the inibuilds A300, etc, etc. So it is very specifically the Fenix A320 giving me the grief. Any clues - is there a magic 'Oh, you need to turn xyz on/off' or similar that I've missed or forgotten? Luckily, the Fenix runs beautifully in MSFS2020 so I can use that for that specific aircraft model - but it's a bit puzzling... October 2, 2025Oct 2 I am still having stutters, even in SU4 Beta. but its mostly during landing and after landing when i am panning (no VR though). And yes MSFS2020 working completely smooth for me as well. MSFS2020, 24, Fenix A320, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 ,G.SKILL 64GB 6000MHz CL28
October 2, 2025Oct 2 No experience of stutters with the Fenix 320 here, quite on the contrary. I have the latest FS 2024 beta 1.6.11.0 as well as the latest Fenix beta (2.4.0.2447). Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
October 2, 2025Oct 2 I don't use VR, but can tell that with my RTX 3060, and FG-Mod in 2024, enabling/disabling fps cap (MSFS 2024 internal or external via NCP) is night & day difference regarding stutters. I have FPS capped to 30. Joerg AlvermannWin10 Pro 64Bit - i9-9900KS - GTX3060 12GB - 5760x1200

On my rig - I was unable to ever get my performance graph in the green until I set V-Sync Interval - Half refresh rate in the settings menu. I mention other settings but that is the key one along with the in-game fps setting. YMMV - good luck. I'll give you my specs and settings that are working amazing well for me. Seriously was flying in NYC today in a Comanche at 80 solid FPS with all green showing in FPS monitor. Have never seen that before to be honest. I found my sweet spot for sure. Have an older 34in Alienware monitor that can only go as high as 104Hz at 3440 x 1440 so I set my refresh rate to 100Hz in NV Control panel. Also in control panel, on MSFS program settings, VSync = ON. Threaded Optimization = On and Power Mgmt on Prefer Max. Thats all. In MSFS - I tested what FPS I can get with NO Frame Gen at all and found I could achieve around 46-49 FPS. Thats where I came up with my "40" FPS number - Need to go under what your FPS is without FG. Then I turned FG back on and low and behold I'm holding 80 FPS in the green. My Settings - I have some things still dialed down but may try increasing. Anti-Aliasing - TAA Max Frame Rate = 40 Frame Gen - Currently on AMD FSR 3 but NVidia also works well. V-Sync Interval - Half refresh rate ( This is a key setting ) I turned most graphic settings to High except for Ultra clouds. Also running Texture Resolution at Medium. ( Another key setting but maybe able to push to high ) My PC Specs.... NVidia 4090, 13900K CPU, and 64gig@6000 MT/s (XMP) Good Luck and drop me a note on how it goes. One last thing - this you tube video guy is really good at setting and tweaking... Tony Edited October 2, 2025Oct 2 by Tony P
October 2, 2025Oct 2 Commercial Member The latest beta of MSFS 2024 is quite stuttery for me - whether it's due to the Fenix or not I don't know as that has updated a couple of times recently too. The initial SU4b release was butter smooth (with Fenix) and I've not changed any settings in between. I guess we wait... October 2, 2025Oct 2 Yeah, in VR, I need Frame Gen to get good experience in VR, MSFS2024, locking it at 36FPS for 72Hz in the Q3, and using Virtual Desktop, i am achieving 70FPS to 72 consistently, with 100ms to 80ish on the ground for latency. I have reduced it to 83% for horizonal and lateral FOV. While TAA is what I really liked because of the text clarity, but the FPS is like 30ish and 140 to 150ms latency. Using InibuildsA350, FBW380, PMDG 777W and F, conservative settings, ultra clouds, high texture res, most ground airport traffic off except road, other settings are at medium and i have those ground rocks and stuff to low besides buildings...

Hmmm - that's a point. I haven't tried it on the Quest 3 recently (I use Virtual Desktop for the Quest). I'll give it a try this evening. And I have to say, the Quest 3 settings are even more mid level than the Pimax settings, which are themselves fairly modest. I think I will have to abandon MSFS2024 for the Fenix at present - everything else works fine with MSFS2024 and the Fenix 320 works fine in MSFS2020 but the Fenix for me in MSFS2024 is presently unusable. I'll check again when SU4 is finally released - many thanks, all, for the feedback, suggestions and thoughts 🙂 Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset
