Flightsim.com
To be fair before they took it down they did post a notice that it would be down for quite a number of months until they were ready to bring it back.

MSFS performance "absolutely staggeringly good".
Ever notice how the people who have the most problems are the ones who faff around with the computer like they know what they're talking about? The unpopular fact is that 99% of the time the reason problems appear is because SETTINGS ARE TOO HIGH FOR THE HARDWARE THE SIM IS BEING RUN ON. It's really that simple.

Live Real World Traffic Date injected directly into BATC!
I've seen BATC using different departure and arrival runways plenty of times. It lacks on ground handling though, more often than not you get cleared to taxi into AI traffic (or them through you).

Hot and 😓 sweaty
29C at 74% humidity here earlier, it's easing off though. Just touching "red" on the "web bulb global temperature" chart Ariel's ChecklistWBGT Chart - Wet Bulb Globe Temperature - Ariel's ChecklistThe Wet Globe Bulb Temperature Chart, or WBGT Chart, provides minimum rest periods & hydration guidelines for hikers in Isreal or for exercising in the heat

Hot and 😓 sweaty
I have a floor mounted fan pointed directly at the front of my computer to help it with cooling and my CPU is still 94C running MSFS according to "Core Temp" app. Meanwhile I have some "menopause" fans around my neck 😆 I'm definitely built for a cold climate - which is worrying since it's only May!

Prepar3d v6 - Global HD trees and Terra Flora
Why do those screenshots look better than MSFS? 👀 Even the sky looks excellent.

GSX Updates
I read earlier on Discord that a resizable UI is planned for a coming update. Maybe it will solve the issue for you @Noel

New 3D Grass addon for XP12
Opinions on the X-Plane Discord were not favourable: and it also does what Laminar explicitly says not to do:

GSX Updates
Maybe a scream will play at the end of the month when the deduction for parts hits your wage slip 😅

GSX Updates
You can turn that off in Settings as well.

GSX Updates
There's an option in GSX settings that has been added so that you can use the "Classic menu" instead.

GSX Updates
I always wondered why the GSX menu never really followed the flow of a flight... to my mind it should be Boarding Catering Refuelling Pushback Deboarding as the first five options (the first three could be in any order I guess) so you could work down them like a checklist. Having Deboarding as #1 in the list seems a little odd - I wonder why it was done that way? Perhaps it was done with a "turnaround" in mind (because you'd deboard first) but still a little weird since I'd wager 90% of simulator sessions start cold + dark rather than as a turnaround.

FSlabs 330... [Oops.. from 2022 :-/]
Well thanks for the massive excitement and subsequent deflation. A real rollercoaster. 😂

I like the new look...
Loving the dark mode option - no longer will I be blinded while doing a night flight 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 For those of you struggling with the new look, select "Light mode" (the light bulb in the footer on the lower left) and you'll get back to a somewhat familiar look and feel. Forums seems way snappier when loading now as well which can never be a bad thing. Great work.

Trying to improve my landings in XP12
A great way to learn in an Airbus is to set up an ILS then let it perform an autoland. Observe what the aircraft systems do especially around the flare and try to replicate it the next time you do a flight. Also make sure your view is set up correctly otherwise you'll get a warped view of what the aircraft is doing and you'll end up fighting an illusion of the ground coming up too quickly - there's a video by Easyjetsimpilot that illustrates this perfectly:

Nice to get Flyby in MSFS2024 with a F keystroke again.
9 euros for a flyby camera view? Games gone.

Sim Update 5 [1.7.27.0] Now Available | MSFS 2024
I wasn't talking about your video, it was the EJSP one above my comment. Sorry that wasn't clear 👍

7 minutes of b-roll only to be told to "reinstall the sim" 🤡 That's like burning your house down to kill a spider.

Sim Update 5 [1.7.27.0] Now Available | MSFS 2024
The best part of using AI to fix things is that it reads crappy forums posts and uses them as gospel - no wonder people have problems 😂 To solve all problems with MSFS, simply press ALT+F4. And now we wait...

"I'm not seeing a degradation in textures so everyone else is wrong". 🙄

Sim Update 5 [1.7.27.0] Now Available | MSFS 2024
Ground textures at cruise are really bad for me - they aren't normally great to be honest, but there's been a marked decrease in quality. Maybe that's where the performance/VRAM usage improvements have been coming from. Sigh.

@Wise87 this may help you too

Sim Update 5 [1.7.27.0] Now Available | MSFS 2024
Turns out they added an extra keybind entry to SHIFT+C (that was bound by default to "Take Control of Character" and "Toggle External/Cockpit View") called "Display Checklist" which pops open the EFB. If you remove that new keybind entry, the EFB no longer appears when entering the aircraft via SHIFT+C after you start a Free Flight session 👍

Underwhelmed by Auto Ortho
I guess a demonstration of "why" is in your screenshot is that while it works it also shows the wiper blades clearing the screens without wipers actually being rendered, so it's not working perfectly. Unless you got it working, but again - more tinkering... The biggest difference here might be that Laminar have to support whatever they put out, across thousands of hardware configurations and levels of skill - you don't, and whatever you've done may not be compatible or possible with future features that you're not privvy to. "It's not possible" doesn't necessarily mean "right now" it may mean "going forwards with whatever we have planned" but rather than lead you into a conversation it comes across as a brick wall. The guys at Laminar aren't stupid and equally they're not obliged to tell you what their plans are or necessarily why they can't do something you'd like. In fact rather than having a problem with Laminar, you should be grateful you're able to tinker at all - I imagine it would be far simpler for them to simply lock down the graphics rendering and force you to use whatever they deem is correct - but they don't.
