Monday at 05:11 PM2 days Too much novelty for me (at least for now), I'm still trying to understand all the goodies brought by SU6 plus the updated aircraft like the 707 and the updated oldies last week. Anyway would be good to know if this DLSS 5 will improve performance, I just don't know. Alexander Colka
Monday at 06:06 PM2 days Not even why this DLSS 5 thing is dividing people, its tech and its absolutly insane, its leaped several generations in graphiocs without a dev doing a single thing... every game i've seen it on is improved in everyway graphically. As a tech head it is utterly absorbing to me, i dont understand why people hate anything AI so much, I willing to hear because i try to put myself in that mind set but just can't... But I'm not a huge fan of AI myself. I do use frame gen though, but yeah it does still ghost glass displays, even with the latest dlss file.I think that demonstration was interesting as it focused more on lighting. I thought DLSS was about frame generation, and had no idea it could affect lighting. DLSS 5 just improves the shading and subsurface scattering on them, and drastically so. Also improves the overall lighting, especially in cloudy or overcast conditions. On the contrary, DLSS 5 will reduce your performance while aiming to produce a more photorealistic image. Based on this video, it definitely provides a more photorealistic look to the sim.

But I'm not french and I didn't exactly understand what the video was demonstrating. This new version of DLSS differs from past versions. DLSS 5 uses neural rendering to improve things like subsurface scattering, material rendering, and overall lighting. It will reduce your performance, but it will produce a more photorealistic look to the sim.For most people, DLSS 5 will be irrelevant because it will tank performance too much, especially in MSFS 2024 which is already very VRAM hungry and hard on GPUs in general, so they won't even bother using it. This is for very high end systems. Edited Monday at 08:20 PM2 days by RNAVV19R

Monday at 09:39 PM2 days Looks so good. Definitely pushes it near to photorealism. I love this.Edit. On the renodx discord I saw some more pics and honestly I am blown away. Ya'all need to head over there and see for yourself. Such a huge leap. Edited Monday at 09:54 PM2 days by Baber20 Baber My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/HDOnlive
23 hours ago23 hr Yeah, the more vids and screenshots out of MSFS2024 appear, the more convincing this looks. And this with a dll ripped off a NBA game, so no adjustment in favour of MSFS2024 neither by nVIDIA nor Asobo. Huge potential. But also HUUUUGE FPS loss obviously. I mean, if this brings your frame generated (!!!) FPS down from 120 to around 60, I doubt that it will be useful anytime soon. But geez, how this improves the lighting in daytime is sick. Really almost photoreal. Not that good in motion then, a lot of artefacts/flickering. Still impressed... 13 hours ago13 hr Devs will have access to these tols moving forward, basically they can finally make game slook ho they intended is the blurb, and having seen many examples i would have to say that isnt just marketing talk for once... The idea that this changed actual modelling or 'artistic vision' of the devs is for the birds. Whether i'd use it at this stage with the preformance drop i doubt it, but sure is interesting seeing all the games on YT. I'd like to see what it could do to FSX.
