Aerosoft A330 Neo released

Worse than the a330 CEO? So it seems. YMMV. TANSTAAFL. Blue skies,

Has anyone compared this to the LatinVFR A330neo v2 yet? Seems like they're both targeting a similar level of fidelity & price point. The Aerosoft has gotten a lot of (well-deserved) flack, but the LVFR product has kind of flown under the radar - so I don't really know if it's much better?

So this is nothing to do with ToLiss? Just a 2024 version of their disastrous NEO for 2020?

I just watched the video btacon provided.

Wow, can't believe it was released in such a state.

I had hopes Aerosoft was getting their act together again since the release and updates of the A340 have been for the most part, pretty decent.

The A340 was saved by the fact that Aerosoft was involved as little as possible! (And even there they failed utterly, see textures and night lighting).
This here is all Aerosoft and it shows.

Correct.

Nothing to do with Tolis. Apparently right after the release they announced a future A330 "neo PRO" with TOLIIS involvement. Stated as a totally separate product and far down the road...

There will be a pro version coming down the line with ToLiss

I'm guessing then, the A330 Pro is where the government grant money is going:

Today, via the website of the German Ministry of Finance and Climate Protection (BMWK) it has been confirmed that the German add-on developer Aerosoft received €460 000 to develop new aeroplane types…

I'm guessing that money was given and long since spent.

Aerosoft received the last tranche of it eighteen months ago...

Seems a totally bizarre sales strategy too; make a really poor product first to further damage an already poor reputation and then release a (hopefully) good product later....🤔

I suspect this has been released to satisfy the terms of the government subsidy they received.

Actually I have the 330neo v2. Not a bad plane at all. Here what moved me to purchase it

I think people are being a little harsh here. Last review I looked at was XP72 i think he's called. This is expressly noted as non study level. However, it has a decent passenger cabin (absent mid and back galley and absent washrooms) and the cockpit is better than what I've seen in the Latin VFR (at least pre-v2 of their neo). Textures are average i.e, won't drain your frames. It has a very nice EFB with simbrief integration, performance data etc. all transferable to the FMS. All the buttons and switches you would usually use are good to go. XP seemed to like the handling of it while hand flying.

Might pick this up.

I've just loaded up Latinvfr 330-900 neo v. 2. Cabin is better though you can tell they are sacrificing higher resolution for fps. Pretty even on the cockpit, I think the EFB is better on the Aerosoft. These two planes are very similar. Some of the paint jobs on the Latin are problematic such as on one of the Air Canada liveries at the tail end it notes A330-300! When you look at night externally you can see the seams in the plane at the front. Plus there are peculiar alarm sounds which go off eg a no smoking flashing light. Needs polish.
