October 8, 2025Oct 8 I must admit, I prefer buttons, knobs, sliders, handles, switches, etc. … but I get why Touch Screen is popular be it phone, iPad, car display … but in defense of the touch screen, I rarely touch it as all my controls are on the steering wheel (and I do mean everything) … the only time I look at my Bolt EV display is for navigation. But not so great if you are in a jet equipped with touchscreens in turbulence. Thus, physical controls are a must. Same for cars. You don't want to be leaning over and messing with a touchscreen when you are trying to maneuver a vehicle, at speed, in tricky traffic.
