Guards at the Louvre were unarmed, allowing the robbers to threaten them to not interfere as they helped themselves to the objets d'art  embedded with thousands of jewels.

• Louvre Museum, Paris, France (October 2025): Four thieves used a construction lift to access the first-floor balcony of the Galerie d'Apollon, stole priceless jewels in a four-minute raid, and escaped on motorcycles.
• National Museum of Natural History, Paris, France (September 2025): Thieves stole gold samples worth approximately €600,000 (around $700,000).
• Cognacq-Jay Museum, Paris, France (November 2024): Four thieves broke into a display case with axes and baseball bats during the daytime.
• Hiéron Museum, France (November 2024): Items were stolen from this museum, though details are less public.
• Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center, New Jersey (2024): A gang was indicted for a crime spree that included stealing nine of the baseball legend's World Series rings.
• Everhart Museum, Scranton, Pennsylvania (2024): The same gang also stole a Jackson Pollock and an Andy Warhol painting from this museum. 

So they started with 2 in America. And then a copycat gang in France with 4 more robberies. In France they just frightened the guards into submission by threatening them with axes and baseball bats and then bust open the glass cases and help themselves.

It does sort of look like their security was run by either inspector Clouseau.   I hope the investigation goes well, the thieves caught, and the jewelry returned, but many think the jewelry will be or has been broken up and the metal melted so as to sell the stones and metals.

Guarantee this heist will be made into a movie.  They may be starting on the screen play already.  It will probably be blockbuster, at least in France.   

I don't remember the exact circumstances, it was a while back, but I got into the Louvre for free. I didn't come out with any free souvenirs like these guys did though. Anyway, somehow being in Paris seems to drain me of all my energy, but it's also my favorite city in Europe.
