Apparently you have SU4

Absolutely loving the beta, except  for AI aircraft not having a landing gear half the time

Wait a minute, I thought the SU4 LOD curve setting was supposed to mitigate this?  Must admit, I’m getting lots of contradictions from those who opt’d for SU4 Beta.

  • No need to watch a 4 minutes video: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/upcoming-end-of-the-su4-beta-test/749371 has a reading time of...30 seconds. Quote below: 'Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

  • Hi @YukonPete, The current beta build (1.6.31.0) is in almost all respects identical to the final SU4 release build (1.6.32.0). The only difference in the upcoming release build is that regular C

  • Why would this clown make a four minute video to bang on about what is, essentially a four sentence announcement from Asobo. Ahh thats right, the look at me syndrome.

Not only too long but also having too many and too long advertising breaks along with the authors including a pretty long section about their sponsor (which I just skip through).  More advert than video a lot of the time.

20 or 30 minutes is quite long enough for me unless the subject of the video is so complex, it demands longer.  A lot of padding in some of these hour long videos that could say what they wanted to in 5 or 10 minutes.

Whatever does or doesn't get them views I suppose.

"SponsorBlock" addon magically skips even the baked in, read-out adverts 🥰

Aircraft models have to be updated. I use JustFlight models and don't have this issue. But on AIG I do. So I have disabled AIG and only use JustFlight models with the native sim traffic or FSLtl (I dont' use JustFlight traffic itself, I tried it but I didn't like how it worked).

I thought most (not all) of the AIG models were updated?  Also thought the LOD curve changes would address this regardless of adding LODs to objects?

I do have JF FSLTL models, but would rather stick with AIG models.  I use PSXT with RealTraffic for AI traffic which works really well and very accurate.

So I guess I’m still puzzled at what the SU4 LOD curve is actually going to address?

Yes not all AIG models show this, but enough did so I just don’t use them anymore. I am ok with the native models + Justflight.

Ah... I use FSLTL.  Shall I go fully to AIG to get my landing gears back?

The opposite - remove AIG completely and use only JustFlight FSTraffic models. That's what worked best for me.

Yeah I'm getting loads of aircraft without landing gear on FSLTL.

Going to test tomorrow, have got just FSTraffic models installed now.

Hope it works with SayIntentions?

Unfortunately they don’t cover the same air carrier quantity as AIG models (or more precisely the models AIG uses).

Oh, most definitely. That's the tradeoff - some can deal with no wheels for the sake of it. I can't. I would love for AIG to work.

I haven't tested but I see no reason why not? It works with BATC, FSHud and indeed FSLtl - all three can inject traffic using its models - I think MSFS itself picks it up, the third party stuff just says "Put a RyanAir 320 here"

I’ve started my download, about 300 GB total for all the updates from my SU3 to SU4.  Does that sound about right for non-streamers?

Yeah likewise.  Having more models but seeing an aircraft land levitating in the air isn’t immersion for me.

I can’t believe we are here with this problem, given how good everything else looks in the sim.

Well the FSTraffic worked but I've still got levitating planes.  I can't believe we are here in SU4, given how far the rest of the sim has come!
