December 17, 2025Dec 17 Installing my first scenery ever, Taburet Hawaii. Its really being the only scenery i wanted because its nice for VFR flying, done many GA flights there, good excuse to do more, good thing we have high speed BB having to download all the openx scenery. Hope xplane doesnt get upset. 🤫

And Taburet did a good job with the watermasks, which really are crucial to getting that tropical feel. Don’t worry, XP will handle it like a champ. Half the reason I frequently fly in HI is simply because the sim performance is GREAT, even with a full load of third party scenery. 😁🤙

December 18, 2025Dec 18 It starts with one scenery, and the next thing you know you have half the planet covered in orthos and can't live without X-World. 😉 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

December 22, 2025Dec 22 Don't worry, XP is no P3D, you can load many scenery as you want and not have much problem (although VRAM usage will increase when you fly over a complex scenery). You can use xOrganizer v3 to enable/disable things before starting XP12, I only use if for plugins though.

I have already suggested we have a competition to see who can load the most scenery some of if it quiet ridiculous

Though I just recently uninstalled P3D v5, I always ran it with a full Orbx Global stack or TrueEarth, with payware airports. it frequently outperformed XP, and I didn’t have stability issues. I only uninstalled it because the newer sims have finally hit my personal threshold for Hi Fi addons. The tipping point being the recent release of the surprisingly great Aero Dynamics T-38C to replace the excellent MilViz T-38C. XP and MSFS are too far ahead in features now, but P3D remains a good sim - for its time. 🤙

The amount, hard to fault find when users have so much, quiet often it is scenery plugins causing issues.
