What would you like 2026 to bring?

Featured Replies

As 2025 comes to a close, what is the ONE thing that you hope 2026 brings to flight simming.

I know between hardware, software, addons, updates, patches, native releases, computer components just to mention a few of the general areas we simmers have to rely on to better the hobby it’s hard to narrow it down to just one item.

For me, when I think of all the possibilities and the items I could benefit most from, I would put my hopes in for a Real Sim Gear GI 275 hardware that offers all the options for software to run on it. PFD, MFD, EIS.

This would be an item we don’t have that’s highly versatile that could work in almost all planes, helos and sailplanes (since all parameters are configurable to the specific airframe) and It doesn’t eat up a lot of panel space (especially the EIS when compared to all the normal gauges it replaces).

There’s a lot of things I hope to see in 2026 and I’m highly interested in hearing what others would like 2026 to bring but for me, yeah the GI 275 is my wish.

Commuter turboprops. One of Beechcraft 1900D, Fairchild Metroliner, Dash 8 Q-100 or -200 would be great to have. IMHO this is the most neglected segment in MSFS.

Oh this is for aircraft … hmm … for XP12 or MSFS 2024 … fully implemented systems (no lite version):

  • MJC Q400
  • A380
  • Concorde
  • 787
  • 747

Better AI for photogrammetry scenery specific to bridges and trees and vegetation.

Road traffic that is accurate to real world (rush hour, drive on bridges not under them, etc.).

Prosecution of corporate greed … subscription manipulation, price fixing, privacy invasion, ability to change usage policy on the fly forcing user consent or no access.

Huge legal consequences such as jail time along with heavy fines/penalties for artificially controlling supply so as to increase price.

Accountability and corruption free legal system.

Agree with these wishes, but not holding my breath.  Too much graft and greed at all levels of .gov.

I would like to thank Big Pharma for the wonder drugs that increase our lifespan.

And Big Brother for building a large army to keep away the vandal hordes from our homes.

Big Tesla for the fleet of electric cars which reduces CO2 emissions.

Big Microsoft for the enormous sky cloud bringing an evening's entertainment our way.

Good question. For me, I’d love to see better depth in systems and flight modeling across the board, especially for GA aircraft, rather than just more visual polish. Hardware like the GI 275 you mentioned would definitely be a big step toward more flexible, realistic setups too.

I hope that 2028 brings a bundle of switches and lumps of coal to Nottingham Forest. And the Premiership to Derby County!
