A harbinger of things to come?

The AI thought the officer was French.

Since it just wouldn't do to have the AI repeating such vile ethnic slurs, a story was crafted to include the fact that the family was watching a movie about a frog.

Coulda been worse. They coulda been watching Pulp Fiction.

When an AI generated police report turns a cop into a frog perhaps a second look might be necessary.  Dontcha love it when a plan falls apart?

This thread brings back memories of working at the Military Police Desk at the Presidio of San Francisco, as one of my duties was to check the paperwork of cases to make sure everything was squared away. Especially if it involved civilian suspects, as their cases would be forwarded to federal court.

Usually, the MP who submits the report would write a statement which asks the subject questions and the suspect’s responses are recorded.  One time an MP’s opening statement was “When where was the at?”  I showed it to the Desk Sergeant and we both had a good laugh before we called the MP back in to rewrite it with more detail so it would actually make sense.  From then on, “When where was the at?” was the phrase we would use to confuse people to see what there reaction would be.

Artificial intelligence is always artificial, but not always intelligent.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

I could see AI helping police officers write reports, not generating them.

Something to be said for the days of the abacus😉
