What is the difference between Community and Community2024

Featured Replies

@Tuskin38Thanks for the clarifying info directly above. It makes good sense to me that the Community2024 folder would be for addons that only work with FS2024, and that the single shared FS2020/2024 Community folder would be for all other addons.

It is only in use if you have both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 installed. If you only have MSFS2024 forget it. Everthing should be in the Community folder.

This is still confusing, all my 2020 and 2024 add ons are in the same "community" folder and everything is ok. My "community2024" folder is empty and I don't think (for now) will put anything on it un

  • Nothing I have 101 items in my 'Community' folder and everything works as intended. The Community2024 is empty. I have both sims installed as... F: MSFS 2020 F: MSFS 2024 The sims are s

BTW, I assume there is no need for a Community2020 folder (which would be for addons that only work in FS2020) because the premise is that FS2024 will successfully run all FS2020 addons, although I have to wonder how well that holds true in practice .

Just to give my 2c on using chatgpt for anything (not that it was asked for), As an example I asked it .....

I need to wash my car, and the car wash is 100 meters away. should I walk or drive?

Chatgpt's answer.
It really depends on a few things! If you're only going 100 meters, walking is probably quicker, easier, and more eco-friendly. Plus, you can stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh air.

However, if you're in a rush, it's raining, or if you're carrying some heavy supplies to wash the car, driving might be more practical.

What's your gut feeling—walk or drive?

🤦‍♂️

Ask a stupid question and you actually got a very reasonable answer.  Try giving ChatGPT an ultra complex question that is where you can't help but notice just how good it is at getting to what you're after, exceedingly good.

How is that reasonable? It told him to walk to the car wash instead of taking the car, despite the fact the entire reason for going to the car wash was to you you know, wash the car.

Try asking it questions about a topic or two you know very well and get back to me.

I've asked it to list all the Pokémon that start with the letter Z.

It sorted them by game Generation, but if a Generation didn't have a Pokémon that started with Z, it would instead grab a Pokémon from a later Generation and put it in the wrong Generation. It would even say it was the wrong generation, but still list it in there anyways.

I asked it for a list of Pokémon that start with F, and it said no new ones were introduced in Gen 7, but there was 1 that was.

I then asked for letter S, and at one point it listed the same Pokémon 4 times.

This was only a couple months ago, so not an old model.

Either don't use ChatGPT for questions on subjects you don't know, double check everything it says with a Human written source, or don't use it at all.

You and Brian seem to be focused on tripping up ChatGPT's logic circuits with paradoxes and stupid question more than using it for what it was designed for.  I use ChatGPT for what it it's very good at:  rapid overview of large quantities of published information along with a fair synopsis of relevant insights gleaned from the data relative to the purpose of my query however complex and nuanced the questions are, and it's excellent in that role.  It's a mega-search engine on steroids.  ChatGPT is a fabulous place to take all sorts of complex queries as a starting point, dramatically quicker, more thorough and vastly more targeted to what I'm actually seeking than Google ever hoped to be, at least pre their own LLM.   In practical terms it's fabulous at what it is supposed to do.  I also use it to help me solve various computer related issues, travel planning, exploring scientific, health and medical issues, reviews of other literature, pretty much everything.  Just the other day I was intrigued by some of Nobel Laureate Roger Penrose's thoughts on consciousness and quantum theory and put this question to ChatGPT and the comments it spit out seemed to be pretty much spot on to what I had been looking at.

That's pretty esoteric but for very practical things pretty hard to beat, things as simple as how to adjust a cake recipe for high altitude baking, what surgical specialist is most experienced in my locale w/ a specific procedure and an overview of reviews by their patients, etc etc.  It's got its obvious weaknesses but in the role of starting point for a review of published data, it's ultra useful.  It's up to us to decide what data it scrutinized is valid enough to be considered.  But just like we do when we read divergent opinions by human authors we have to decide for ourselves what to take out of it and I daresay ChatGPT is at least as good in that role as I am as well.

This is way off the OP's topic and so we should leave it there, I wasn't trying to trip it up just prove the point that All this AI is subjective too many peole are taking what it churns out as gospel. it's only as good as the information it's fed, put word not allowed in get word not allowed out.
