Recently began wanting to do some lower n slower flying in MSFS 2024 as I've been pretty much limiting to airliner operation with SLC and BATC, and thought learning basic helicopter operation for sightseeing would be fun and has been.  You can see these giraffe are spooked and run away as the helicopter approaches them on the Okavango Delta in Botswana.  I expected to see some of this behavior when I installed Orbx' Jurassic Archipelago however the dinos seemed unmoved by my presence.  Would have been very cool to have them chase me!   I plan to add local helicopter excursions when I do my normal airliner flights to take in local scenery as interest piques.   This addon, Okavango Delta I purchased a Simmarket:

You were not enough extra protein to matter!

I too need to get back into helo flying.  I am thinking about making a wooden stand for my collective, with a ledge on the base to hold a 20 lb dumbbell, so the whole thing won't move.  With it being a separate/discrete object, I can move the whole apparatus out of the way when I'm not flying helos.  Previously, I thought about mounting the collective to my chair but I think this new idea will be better.

I was flying by the cruise ships in Ketchikan Alaska earlier this evening and a flock of birds flew in front of my plane it looked very real. I have Okavango Delta installed but the last time I flew there it was devoid of animals might be SU4 conflicting with it.

Nice, Noel. Yes, the giraffes are running away...from quite a distance...looks quite natural....

I recall you were impressed by the "Where are the cows...?" thread of Todd a short while ago ...🙂...and wished to come down to the ground level from your airliner cockpit...to explore the (MSFS) fauna.

I have been lately exploring the Birds of South America...via the FS Birds add-on....and having reasonable success around the big airports. I realized the hard way that I don't need to chase them with my Camera...🙂..., rather just stay put in one place in the sky, and they would come to me in repetitive patterns...not how real nature works, but very convenient...

Pretty much all of the land animal fear your plane. Including the cows that occasionally like to encroach on the runway of my home airport lol.

True...in the RW and in our virtual world too...apparently...

That's why, I like to gingerly (and soundlessly) sneak up upon them with my Drone Camera...🙂...
