April 23Apr 23 I've ended up using both too, just in different roles. For me BATC is better when I want online-style phraseology and more of that airline flow, but SayIntentions is still the easier one when I want GA or just a less managed IFR hop. I don't really see them as strict substitutes anymore, more like two tools that suit different nights.I've ended up using both too, just in different roles. The Navigraph survey results showing BATC ahead of SayIntentions (SI) make sense for - at least - two reasons. First, I think the data is likely biased toward IFR users, which is BATC's core strength, while their VFR support is still very (very) experimental. Second, the high cost of SayIntentions is a significant barrier for many. As a user of both programs who flies strictly VFR, the price gap and IFR focus definitely skew those numbers.
