January 28Jan 28 Hi all, just for fun now a few from good old FS9 featuring various wellknown addons freeware and payware. Thank you very much for viewing! January 28Jan 28 FS9…🙂… On the other post and your comment about XP, I was just now thinking about my own FS2002/FS2004 days, when I was a bit younger and my hair was less grey…🙂… Nice collection, here, of a nostalgic aircraft set…recall that KLM 747 very well… Thanks for sharing…!
January 28Jan 28 Buddy, have fun with FS9.. And I hope you don't take what I'm about to say personally, and this is just my opinion... Somehow, I admire people who can still play a sim like this after the tremendous technical advances we've made with Flightsimulators. I can't look at the graphics anymore, they horrify me, and for me they represent the huge progress that has been made. To be honest, back in the FSX days, I already dreamed of having a graphic engine like the one we have today in MSFS. Don't be angry if I say this so honestly, but this is now a NO-GO for me as it would be a waste of my time that I could spend using the much more advanced MSFS. But no offense, to each his own - I apologize for being straightforward ! cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.
January 28Jan 28 Author Always feel free to say and post whatever is your true opinion PM here! 🙂And I forgot to say that these shots are from an older backup only of course. Basically your absolutely right and modern rig represents a huge progress in any aspect and is needed for a good setup of all major sims. This can be the ultimate 4k powermachine or a more average gaming rig like mine using only Full HD 1920x1080. Regarding your setup I can see the following:Depending on all your complex addons you also have a complex setup currently using exclusivly msfs 2020 for a lot of reasons. If I look at the results you know what to do and how to do it but it's also true that your Ryzen 9 X3D powermachine would be nice to get everything out of for example Xplane 12 at very high settings. This is also true if you say that because of other reasons you cannot do that. Regarding FS9 today I didn't fly at all today, not even a minute, and therefore didn't waste any time on that. Nevertheless, for those who want to do it: The performance of Win10 regarding such very old apps has been improved and FS9 basically runs but I had some strange behaviour for example of the UI. And I don't use the old sim for real simulation but to check some older solutions and files, I can boot another machine running a fully activated Win7 more or less offline and the entire performance is 100% old FS9 as it ever was without any issues. January 30Jan 30 Author 1 hour ago, ryanbatc said: Blast from past. Yes indeed and every old simmer knows about that fantastic freeware. And you are right, it's exactly the old Twin Commander by Milton Shupe. But I want to say something else: I myself am a longtime Orbx customer, not an employee. And I have, in the Orbx environment, a few longtime colleagues and we received information from anywhere that possibly at Microsoft/Asobo there are plans to shut down Microsoft Flightsimulator 2020 in the near future in favor of Flightsimulator 2024 for any reason we don't know. And you know as an experienced simmer that for some reasons with a view to the new SDK and so on this won't work for a lot of great addon designers like Milton Shupe who are doing either great freeware or payware and are more or less lone fighters. They of course cannot afford to bring it all over. And now I hope that you are willing, based on your knowledge, to proof that this true. The very simple solution is to go on with both sims for at least 10 years and all people involved can make there decision which Microsoft Flightsimulator to use. Thank you! But as you say, "No offense".
February 3Feb 3 Looks like your using generic FS9 stuff. It would look hundreds times better with the new FS9 zibo mod and the FS9 Levelup Beechcraft.
