Aerosoft CRJ - Uncommanded Engine Shutdowns

Featured Replies

Fired up the CRJ for the first time in a couple of years, updated to the newest version, huge step forward.   Problem is that every flight I've taken, I'm getting close to cruise and am getting random engine shut downs.    I'll relight it but then 5-10 minutes later, the same thing happens.    Finally called it quits.   Any idea what the problem is?  Can't be a keybind issue, I was on autopilot and wasn't touching the keyboard or controls.    I really want to like the CRJ, it's such a nice break from just being a systems manager on the Fenix (or even the MAX).    Any ideas what the issue is?

Could be a controls conflict, two commands assigned to the same thing.

Agreed - I'd check whether you have an axis bound to the mixture control.

Even if you're not touching the controls, an analog axis can "jitter" from time to time, causing a control input to be sent to the simulator.

I really like the CJR series and on occasion, have no idea why but fortunately it's rare (3x in the past year or so since using 2024) the engines won't start.  N2 will wind up to 25% and stay there and I have no idea why.  So reboot and restart and all's well, no issues completing flights.

Next time if n when it happens again I'll have a look maybe on those rare occurrences that was the issue, thanks Dave.

no problem.  I hadn't flown it in months.  Was beating my head against the desk then realized it.  Had one of those "doh" moments.

I remember from flying these things in the real world in years past that you would get an EICAS message if the boost pumps were off. Could be bad recollection but I’m pretty sure it would throw an amber caution message.
