iniBuilds VHHH for MSFS2024 announced

Featured Replies

Absolutely. It is one of those things I wait since release of MSFS 2020 and I have absolutely no understanding why this still hasnt been added. Cant be that much of a task, no?

Why is there not a single shot that actually shows the airport we see from the plane in the preview? The interiors and all certainly look nice, but some shots of the ramps and actual apron etc. w

The fact that this was possible 20 years ago in FS9, and not possible right now is completely insane.

Other than the “nice-looking interiors,” the rest is a complete mess. Airport facilities are wrong, ground markings are wrong, and even some of the modeling is wrong. And this is supposed to be the quality you get after claiming that “airport staff helped provide references”?

Almost everything on the airside is inaccurate. In fact, it’s not even as good as a VHHH scenery released five years ago. At this point it feels like they couldn’t even copy existing work properly.

MSFS scenery development seems to have fallen into a weird trend: as long as the terminal interiors look good, everything else can be ignored. But here’s the funny part — both real pilots and sim pilots spend far more time taxiing around the airport than wandering inside the terminal. Yet somehow the ground environment is exactly the part that keeps getting done wrong.

Apparently in MSFS these days, as long as the terminal looks great in screenshots, accuracy no longer matters.

Is it? Do you think it would be more constructive to list all wrong aspects over at their discord to help them making it better instead of ranting here? But yes, I am for the moment happy with the WFS rendition and until someone states otherwise, I see no reason to switch, especially not before v2 of the WFS rendition is out. To me, VHHH was a very strange choice by IniBuilds...

NIce, but what is the relevance for VHHH or the discussion IniBuilds vs. WFScenery?

Sorry, I got banned by them. Why? Back when MSFS 2024 hadn’t even been released yet and most people were still flying MSFS 2020, they decided to release the A350 only for MSFS 2024. I questioned that decision in their Discord channel, and then I got banned. As it turned out later, they ended up proving themselves wrong.

Then list them here and I transfer it over to discord. If they are valid, I guess they should know it to improve the scenery, no?

You probably were being impolite about it.

WF didn't announce their Hong Kong V2 until after inibuilds announced Hong Kong, so one can posit that they weren't planning it until they had competition 🙂

Could be. Or maybe they simply wanted to wait with the announcement until they have something to show and were forced to say it early because of Ini release. Either way pure speculation 😉

They showed art assets in their announcement, so they were already working on it.

It's more likely they announced it early because of ini's announcement.

Evidence? Just look at the airport ground yourself. A bunch of default Asobo assets everywhere. Take a look at the apron lights — they’re basically the default ones.

You’ve got eyes, you can go check and compare it yourself. Especially when ini claims they used real-world references for the airport.

But if you’re too lazy to look, fine — I can show you some evidence.

WF’s VHHH was released five years ago. So who exactly is under sales pressure here, desperately trying to prove that their version is the best?

WF is an independent creator who has been making scenery since the FSX days, in the same spirit as developers like Flightbeam. For creators like them, scenery development has never really been about pushing flashy marketing — in many cases it started as a passion project outside of their regular work.

Most of us aren’t wealthy enthusiasts running i9 CPUs and RTX 5090s. The quality of terminal interiors is not the only metric for judging a scenery. What really matters is the accuracy of the terminal models themselves, the airport ground layout, and the correctness of all the airside facilities. Those things are what actually affect the flying experience. Terminal interiors are just a finishing touch.

And honestly, aside from flashy interiors, anyone with eyes can see the difference in quality in the rest of ini’s work.

The screenshots they posted as part of the V2 announcement didn't look very different from V1. Still missing new details like the ground radar towers and cameras that are dotted around the field.

That said, I love WF and hope to see more mainland sceneries from them. I'm begging for a good Chonqing and Urumqi!
